I find that hilarious, repeat offenders, serious criminals, get bail after bail, the courts and laws are soft as butter. Now they want to just about hand an AFL player a death penalty for throwing a few punches. I'm not condoning Bolta's actions but FFS there is far worse going on that goes unpunished every day.
Interesting take. Did you watch the footage?

Yeah its bad, but i think, faces 5 years jail is a beat up to get clicks for the article, dangerous driving causing death rarely even gets that, pedos barely get that, not saying i agree but i felt it was a bit of a beat up to get clicks.

In saying that, the AFL and Richmond need to hand down further punishment, regardless of the court outcome.

Yes, 5 years is a beat up which is what I meant, the laws are soft and worse crimes go virtually unpunished is what I was trying to say.

Not too sure if this is the appropriate thread for this, but i'm seeking other opinions, especially those who also watch other teams closely.
The Crows have gotten off to a great start this year, and are looking really good. Matthew Nicks has been there for one or two seasons longer than Voss has been at Carlton, and also hasn't had comparitively great results prior to the start of this year.
What do others think Adelaide has done that have pushed them agead of us at this stage? They've obviously kept faith in Nicks, but i don't know enough about how they've recruited, changed game style, or added to coaching and development over that time.
I guess i'm just trying to understand what things they've done around Nicks to see that improvement.
Again, this is just a very superficial observation, but would be interested in the thoughts of more learned footy watchers.

A really quick point.

They added top shelf quality recruits in Dawson (pick 16 i think) and Rankine

Good recruits that compliment their style in Neale Bullen and Peatling

They added Thilthorpe via the draft and Rachelle

To me they are trending in the right direction after a rebuilding phase but they have recruited really well compared to us.

Have a look at their injury list. Nick Murray, 2 weeks, is the only relevant injury. 2 others who wouldn't be playing firsts.

If we had Newy, Jagga, Harry, Lij, plus a bunch of quicker players in Fanta, Durds, Cinc, and a fully fit Walsh, Acres and Charlie, do you really think we would be having this conversation?
