Seen Longmire was here for gather round wonder if he met with Adelaide?
Zero chance, we aren’t even thinking about turfing nicks.

3-0 start to the season* and they'd be thinking their decision to retain Nicks is vindicated

*just don't mention or consider we played three shit teams

I got excited for a second then you burst my balloon of hope with reality! As Scorpus posted below yours, the 3-0 start to the season would definitely impact the thinking in the club about retaining Nicks.

Hopefully the club pull the ' we already have the best candidate to replace him already at the club' with Murray Davis

With the chance of two losses incoming (Freo in Freo next week)
we could rapidly be entering a most dangerous phase of Nix in
"Job Protection" mode,
complete with Backing in the Boys, playing injured players, never resting tex, blaming anyone but himself, copy& paste pressers, media scrutiny, no debutants, angry fans, lower crowds, poor fixturing..

Not nice to think about & I don't have the answers but If I were him, I'd start trying different things now because we've seen what happens when he trusts his Instincts. You end up being the least successful couch in the clubs history & officially out of a job.
Might not be the worst thing but just try not to destroy the club on the way out.

TBH if thats the case then im all for it. If he does that he'll be gone by the bye week.

The draw opens up after these 2 weeks a bit, if we jag one of them we're still in a pretty decent spot.

They’d be thinking that at 0-3.

I hate to harp on this but I really don’t think people understand the mentality of the individuals on the AFC board.

I attempted to use Advanced mathematics to predict Adelaide's ladder position based on Nicks' previous years. But it has abandoned us.

However, the number of wins from each non-covid season under Nicks (7,8,11,8) does show up in quite a few important integer sequences, with a wide range of predictions.

For example, A261773: a(n) = Number of full reptend primes p < n in base n, starting at a(77) = 7, predicts that Adelaide will win 1 match this year.

While, A329648: Let D = A014601(n) be the n-th positive integer congruent to 0 or 3 mod 4, then a(n) = b(D) := -Sum_{i=1..D} Kronecker(-D,i)*i, where Kronecker(-D,i) is the Kronecker symbol...

...starting at a(3) = 7, predicts that Adelaide will win 30 matches this season. Also note that a(1) = 1, and a(2) = 2 which add to the total number of wins in 2020.

Good News for Nicks!

I wonder who the easiest coach in the AFL to coach against is.

If you take out squad capabilities, im talking coach v coach.

Would it be Nicks?

Nicks is a trick free coach. I could count on no hands the amount of times he has surprised me with a tactical move. He strikes me as a coach that is so predictable you could set a watch to it.

For instance, the predictable rest time at the end of quarters that result in red time goals to the opposition. If I was an oppo coach, id be saying hang in their, work hard because in the last 10 minutes especially before half time, we will 100% get reward for effort. This dates back to 2020 and still goes on today. Its so predictable.

The lack of players behind the ball is another, we seem desperate to move players forward like Hinkley and well this is hit and miss, some weeks we just outright play a kick and catch chip around game.

I dont know, Nicks just seems awfully void of tricks and just relies on talent.

Where as the insight on Scott just demonstrates what a good coach can do, who not only knows the game but can adjust. The Crows should throw the world at Scott, just triple what Geelong are paying him for all I care. I think Scott at this stage probably ranks as the smartest footy iq coach to ever coach the game. His brother on the other hand is what you get when you order a scott coach of Temu.

2/3 of those wins were arguably fraudulent too.

Both the Saints and Dons were cherry ripe for the plucking, being very depleted due to injuries.
