Well, it didn’t take long for usual programming to resume…

Back to hoping Nicks makes more selection blunders, we lose, and he gets sacked.

Amazing to think that I’m not alone in wanting this. Even though we are fifth on the ladder. It’s because we just know the train is derailing in the same way it always does under this useless coach.

Oh my goodness I just saw Nicks on the ABC - his words were “we have some guys who have had a little taste this year already”

Please babyjesus please tell me he’s talking Berry not Murphy!

If Murphy comes in I’m going full Linda and grabbing the pitch fork!
You know what, let him.

We know they will fail

He is signing his own death warrant, which is great rid the club of the cancer that is Nicks

We've seen this movie before.

I like that people think that nicks will get sacked. I'm fully expecting him to be at the club next year. Injury excuses are already being prepared
We might even get a scenario where smith murphy and borlase come in this week. Fun times
There is no way he survives another year of no finals
Especially after the recruiting and list they have built

I am at the point if we lose this week (and I think we will - Carltons mids will bully us and thier 2 KPF will have a field day)
Nicks will panic and make dumb selections

We will freefall and he gets the arse

Bring in Dyson Sharp and NWM with a new coach ( Simpson, Buckley or Longmire) any of those 3 will do

Ok, still doesn’t mean anything, it’s inarguable that he’s career form.
All it means is that he's probably polled extremely well in a few games because he still gets a lot of the ball. To us who've noted the drop off in his kicking efficiency and my biggest concern, him trying to do too much at times, running into trouble or getting caught holding the ball, we're expecting a response from the coaches to revitalise his game... fat chance of that, but here's hoping.

That's the thing. If you look at the signs in isolation you can convince yourself it's all OK. We're 5th on the ladder, had a bad day against Fremantle, lost by a point to Gold Coast, those things happen in footy, but we're +.500, so it's all sweet ATM!

But the overarching signs point to all the same failures and pain points cropping up again, ones that held us back from reaching out full potential and out of the finals race half-way through the year.

Apologies for the intrusion, but as a Blues supporters, with Silvagni out its ripe for exploitation by your three 3 headed monsters in Thilthorpe, Fox and Tex. At least one of them should get off the leash, as Weitering aside, that leaves Haynes (was v good last week but jury out on whether that form continues) and Gov (absolute liability for 1:1 role).

Also, Keays feasts on the blues (9 goals in the past 3 games) and the Blues are the Crows' bunny when playing in Adelaide - we seem do well against Port in SA but can't do jack$hit against the Crows.

Anyway, hoping for a good game and best of luck.

Carlton backline have been working well together. We need to spread them and separate their defenders so we can play some one on one footy. Thats the only way to exploit Silvagni missing.

Not sure about that.
Tex is 45 and probably needs a rest
Thilthorpe has a bone sticking out of his hand
Fogarty has an inverted shoulder blade.

What’s is the actual point of playing Smith anymore? Unbelievable how he’s in consideration

I'm no Smith fan by any stretch of the imagination, but is it that difficult to see why? Hinge is out which is a tonne of experience out the door so they're no doubt worried about the stability of the backline. Smith also has decent leg speed, very similar to Hinge. If you're talking like-for-like attributes (not in terms of actual quality) with experience then he'll be in consideration. The game is metres gained in that position, and Milera is having a shocker bringing the ball down the ground and keeps passing it sideways (132 metres gained......)

Nankervis just doesn't look great in that position off HB, Curtin doesn't have the speed, we don't want to swing Dawson into that position or we'll simply get murdered in the middle with Cripps/Hewett/Cerra combo...

I'm all for giving Edwards a debut but this coaching group won't take the risk in an inexperienced kid over Smith, ain't gonna happen. Like I've said previously Crows rebuild is done, and giving players games to blood them when they're an unknown quantity isn't going to happen unless they are in a CLEAR vein of form, and when there isn't another experienced option available. The coaching group are terrified for their jobs.

Berry is 100% going to come in and take Crouch's spot.
