Wouldn't surprise me if Murray Davis is a senior coach in the next five years. He has a good coaching resume as it stands. Took the NT Thunder to a NEAFL premiership, assistant under Fages at Brisbane, and now the turn around he has played a role in at Adelaide. The fact he never played AFL is really the only thing that might go against him, but it shouldn't.
Alot of the top NBL and NFL coaches in the states never played at the highest level either.

Im not sure he wants to be a senior coach TBH.

He was asked on FiveAA if he would consider the Melbourne head coaching job if offered, and he basically said "hell yeah".

Not so much this year i don't think, Melbourne will grab Buckley.
But if a couple of sides start to fall over early next year I think that'll be time to worry.

1. His partner is the Lions AFLW football boss (she might move here)
2. We tried to get him the year before too
