Recap at a glance:
  • Harley Reid has signed a two-year extension, which keeps him at West Coast until at least the end of 2028.
  • He still has one season left on his rookie deal, the new extension kicks in for 2027.
  • Cal Twomey reports that the deal could reach up to $2m per year if Harley triggers all incentives (e.g. this is not a base $2m per year deal).
  • This is a straight two year extension, with no player option for a +9 or anything similar.
  • Get a big dog up ya, Victoria.

What are the opposite of halcyon days?

With that being said, has there been a better night at the footy than Naitanui’s breakout game against Hawthorn in a monsoon?
That 2015 qualifying final was pretty epic. We absolutely destroyed the reigning premier and it felt like the arrogant Eagles were finally back! That was the highest point under Simmo until 2018 GF.

One of my greatest footy memories, that '15 game. Crowd was insane. Boys went nuclear, Priddis sitting in the coaches box. Every time they showed him on the big screen the crowd went wild.

Final siren blows, song starts and the rain starts pouring. Epic.

Yeah that was also a lot of fun. Total ambush after the week we were subjected to endure in the media
Was at the game, the atmosphere was amazing, one of the loudest I can remember while we poured on goal after goal while they scored none in the first half.
Then I come home, watch the replay and got to see that at half time.

Best part was when they crossed to Fed Square where all the Dees losers were sitting around in deck chairs and they all had a look on their face like they just watched the Hindenburg disaster live. Tony Jones had campaigned to have their crowd noise streamed into Optus and the AFL allowed it for some unknown reason - has never been allowed for any other team at any other ground.

Any links to watch the full game?
Got WatchAFL but can't go back that far!

It’s a deep dig, but you can find it on the AFL website.

Select video at the top, and scroll down to Match Replays.
Use the filter button to select the year, and scroll across to PF.

Welcome to my happy place.

I could google it but I won't for the sake of conversation, was that the night game at Subi against Hawthorn in their power rangers outfit?

Sure was. Big footy rumours all week of Pridda and Masten as late outs, I heard them confirmed when in a taxi to the Vic for pre drinks. Figured we were in trouble but the team absolutely destroyed the Hawks.

In hindsight, I think we gave them a reality check and set them on their way. A close win would have been better for both teams. I still think we had more talent in the team, but they were a seasoned and well drilled unit.

I just remember how ferocious we were in tackling and through the contest. Gave them nothing.

Such a contrast for how poor the grand final was when we just didn't click or provide anywhere near that fire.

That was pretty epic. I also loved the 2011 Bulldogs massacre as a sign we'd turned the corner. The 07 Ben Cousins comeback game. Lots of great memories of the third tier.

I was at all of these games.

All of them, and i'm telling you now, nothing compares to the absolute INSANITY in the crowd for Tunbridges tackle.

Round 23, 2013. We only lost by 86 points. I didn't make the rules.
