I’ve always felt that port despise the teal. They just wanna be black and white
It’s resented because it’s forced upon us. If we had the same treatment as any other club and could wear our colours and designs of choice I reckon the entire supporter group would be more welcoming to alternate zany kits.

Nothing about it was forced. Port Adelaide requested to join the Australia Football League. As a condition of their entry, Port Adelaide was required to adopt another colour to differentiate from Collingwood. Port Adelaide chose Teal paying homage to the Port River and they were allowed to enter the league.

Look if you hate the colour I get it, but to make it out like Port was held at gunpoint and forced to wear Teal is a bit ridiculous especially considering they never had to enter the AFL in the first place. They could easily have just withdrawn and remained the Port Adelaide Magpies.

No, Brian Cunningham said teal was inspired by the Orlando Magic and Miami Dolphins. The Port River thing was just an afterthought, they really wanted to emulate what Cunningham saw with the town of Orlando celebrating Orlando Magic in the finals.

Teal is Port Powers real identity.
I’d say it’s Black and white which is their identity.

But with that off the cards, and a third colour needed (teal) which isn’t liked as mentioned by port fans, why not look to sky blue? I mean it is their original colour, has been used in heritage guernseys twice. Either that or pink would make sense from a traditional sense.

These are my ideas for a hypothetical SANFL 2026 Retro Round: Adelaide.png Adelaide: Based on the original Adelaide team of the same name from 1877-1873.

Central District.png
Central District: Based on their 1980's design with a retro sponsorship design.

Glenelg.png
Glenelg: Based on their 1962-1966 design. This is the only former design Glenelg have never re-used.

North Adelaide.png
North Adelaide: Based on their design from 1937-1938 which has never been re-used.

Norwood.png Norwood: Based on their 2002-2004 away design with a retro logo and Coopers sponsorship. A fan favourite amongst Norwood supporters that hasn't seen the light of day since 2010.

Port Adelaide.png
Port Adelaide: Based on their original design. They were going to wear this in 2020 but the pandemic forced them out of the 2020 season.

South Adelaide.png
South Adelaide: Based on their 1960-1963 design.

Sturt.png
Sturt: Based on their very first design. I decided to use their current colours and not use a reverse sash to make it more aesthetically pleasing.

West Adelaide.png
West Adelaide: Based on their 1947-1953 design with long sleeves that they've never re-used.

Woodville-West Torrens.png
Woodville-West Torrens: Based on West Torrens 1907-1911 design which has never been re-used.

Gold coast have almost fallen arse backwards into an opportunity to have a bold, unique identity with the pink. I'd just lean into it and embrace it 100%. Wear it as much as possible in the finals and really solidify it if they do well.
Red and gold would be great if they just did a simple traditional gold Monogram on the red base, similar to Fitzroy's excluding the blue yoke. Melbourne had an away uniform from 10 years back that looked like one of the best just with a monogram on their red guernsey.

I had a quick look, it was 2015. Only seemingly worn against Carlton and Freo. Looked pretty shmick though.

Never said I hated teal. I don’t mind it at all. If we could wear our prison bar guernsey as our main, I’d fully get behind an all teal alrernate.

Anyone have ideas of what a North Melbourne Kookaburra guernsey template could be?
Perhaps it'll be that Mizuno template that's going around but with a kookaburra logo

I'm not a graphic designer but if I were to create unique strips for the gold coast suns, I'd utilise actual celestial events for inspiration.

I'd have a sunset strip.

An eclipse strip, mostly black with the red circle maybe. That would be cool because you could reference the suns eclipsing other teams.

A dawn strip. Maybe for Anzac day.

Anyway if the awesome people here have an interest in making any of these designs that's be very cool. Thanks for your time.
This has got to be one of the best ideas for the Gold Coast, so I mocked up some designs: 4.png 2026 HOME SUNRISE EDITION.png

I've had a couple of ideas in mind for a while but don't have the Illustrator skills yet to represent them well enough, If anyone was to have a go at them that'd be awesome.

Firstly one for the Pies as 3rd Kit for games away to Geelong and North, Almost entirely black, with thin almost pinstripe width stripes in place of the standard ones.

Secondly a 3rd kit for the Eagles with the same wings design, but colours similar to the almost fluorescent yellow and blue that they wore at Gather round this year, an even brighter blue maybe.

Thanks!
