Hi danster168 - I noticed Petracca released a cookbook the other day. Clearly very invested in the Dees season!

Are you going to get a copy? I’m sure there are some great recipes inside! I’d be thrilled for any recommendations you can provide.

when did the decade start? after you got Viney? sounds about right
lol. even including Viney. Let's call it 1 father/son in 20 years. Imagine even bringing that up thinking that changes anything. lol.

Throw in having Mac Andrew stolen from us. We're the biggest disadvantaged club in the afl in this space. And Brisbane are the most. Crazy to compare the 2 teams.

So Melbourne has the biggest disadvantages but Brisbane has the most disadvantages.

I must say I agree Danny. That’s why we need to support one another. Two battler clubs against the world.

you have just as many father sons on your list as us, its not our fault they are potatoes

Imagine complaining about something that you have equal to, just more excuses from the poor clubs

oh that's cute. how naive you are. Dees have only had 1 good Father/son in the history of the father/son rule. Educate yourself before posting. So doesn't matter if it's before or after. He's our only one. Meanwhile most of your flags have been father/son related with huge asterisks.

it's not our fault they are potatoes either. That's what pot luck is. And that's why it's a horrendous rule.

There's some very good teams (Pies, Dogs, Lions) that would be fringe top 8 teams without their gifts.

yes it is or dont pick them

we lost a grand final by the smallest of margins with only fletcher in the team who was fringe at best, so no this narrative is rubbish, the year before no father sons and made a prelim, we've been building for years before the father sons and making finals, its just excuses poor teams supporters make

Brisbane should not be penalized because of the virility of our former players. It's a fine rule.

Seems easily forgotten that we’ve finished top 6 every year since 2019, while the first father sons arrived in time for 2023.

Great to see Spargo getting a run with the Casey Demons. Surprised the Demons would play someone so highly ranked in the VFL. But here we are. Sad!

Cam Rayner is a solid footballer. Just has copped criticism as most number one draft picks do in relation to their expectation vs output. Commentators were talking him up in his draft year as the next Dustin Martin which wasn't a fair comparison. Decent half forward that can pinch-hit through the midfield.

He is a long way short of Dustin Martin

He is also a bit more than a 'solid footballer'.

How about this dart from 60m - gets the handball, takes four steps, and keeps it low and fast to avoid it getting touched, lands right through the middle. Sublime

He did not improve on from last year and therein lies the issue with Rayner. He is athletically blessed. Has a great physique (6ft'2 & 95kg's) and yet, can not average more than a goal per game/14-15 disposals throughout the season.

Isaac Heeney showed similar glimpses for years on end before hitting his straps in 2021. Rayner's going on 26 years of age and approaching 163 games. Not sure he ever amounts to anything more than moments of brilliance. I guess similar to Jake Stringer in many ways who did a lot more earlier in his career too.

The sentence “Rayner’s going on 26 years of age” is a strange way to say “Rayner is 25 years old”
