Split pick 2 and use that to trade in Zac Fisher imo

Is Starcevich much better than Cole? Serious question. His stats are terrible in comparison.

Cole was excellent on the weekend I thought. Starc can hit that level, like last years GF.

Cole was deplorable v the Dogs. Starc doesn’t ever play that poorly.

That’s the best way I feel I can answer your question.

Nope. But he's a different player, stronger and taller & probably cements Hough's role up the ground in the short term.

Ryan is currently 28. His birthday is on 2 October. So he will be 29 for the entire 2026 football season.

A matter of one month doesn't change the fact we will have to throw in extra if we intend on getting someone like Boxshall or Windhager coming to us in return.

Isn't the hype around CDT that he's a Luke Jackson type extra midfielder? If so, even if he's not the best ruck initially (or ever), it could be handy to have a hybrid tall/mid as a point of difference. Posters are always joking about giving unsuitable KPP a run in the midfield, (put McGovern in there!) but what if CDT actually could be that tall lanky extra mid, regardless of his ruck abilities initially.

In a few years when he's bulked up, we could have a real weapon on our hands.

Honestly it seems to me our selection team are ratings slaves, pretty much every pick in last year's draft was the highest rated player available. They probably get a computer to do it on auto draft. So if CDT and Duursma are rated 1 & 2, I'd be very surprised if we didn't pick them barring a pick split.

Surely after all the moves yesterday, today's the day we lock in Campbell Chesser 🤘
Come Let Me Love You GIF

You may be thinking of Tauru or Travaglia. Who knows but **** I hope we play hardball if they are prepared to offer him that contract.
The fact we are willing to get Ryan go may also mean we think we are getting Achee. Play hard ball Clark ya campaigner, let's see if he has learnt a thing or two

Guys come in peace.

I get it when you lose or potentially lose a player it’s shit.

But be realistic - we won’t be handing over any half decent young player aside from potentially collard.

It’s likely a draft asset or at best Steele - if you can convince him to come with $$$
How is Collard going this year?

Your post was misleading in suggesting Ryan is a year older than he is. One year is significant for a player in the latter stages of career.

And whether we need to stump up extras for those trades is your opinion, it’s not a fact. Boxshall was a late pick, he’s played a few AFL games and looked decent. Obviously the Saints regard Ryan as a potentially significant piece in their push up the ladder. If we drive a hard bargain a straight swap for Boxshall wouldn’t be unreasonable.

Wanting to keep a soon to be 29yr old, who has had multiple hamstring injuries, that only puts in when it suits him is classic list management by the Eagles.

Ryan ain't getting any better, if anything he will regress, even more so if he does not want to be at the Eagles.

Get the best you can for him, and send him out the door, he can be another clubs problem, when his body inevitably breaks down again.

Have they not learnt anything, with regards to our players and how they start to breakdown when they start heading in to their 30's ie: Yeo, Sheed just to name a couple.

I think it’s posturing more than wanting to keep him. Any 26+ yo with currency wanting to leave is actually a really good thing with our list state and I think the club finally recognises this.

Oscar and Liam have currency, Barrass had currency although as I said the year before we should had sold him to the Swans for their 2 x 1Rs.

But does he walk away from the possibility of a 3-peat
Personally I find it very hard to believe Neale would leave Bris to come to us.
like mentioned here before if it was a chance between a Neale from BRI for 2 years and take his salary for a token pick to BRI and interested in a coaching role going forward I would take him in a heart beat for his midfield ability and leadership quality, still a top 20 mid in the comp.
Steele on the other hand is slowing down considerably and would provide very good leadership, but he is still only a couple of years left in the game, also would be a higher cost.
If I had a choice I would take Neale in a heart beat.

Its just posturing mate. A deal will get done. Probably already agreed to in fact.

Zero chance we get Neale in the next 2 years.
