Would love to see the Suns completely bury Essendon tonight but suspect they’ll take the foot off the pedal and the game will limp to an unremarkable 5-8 goal win

Curious is anyone else watching this game live and thinking to themselves, by gees if only, Essendon had CDT dominating in the ruck and running amuck in their forward line they would be 24 points ahead of the Suns at quarter time.

I am hoping that Matt Rosa and Crazy Vozzo are thinking the very same ........ because what a bargain they will be getting when they trade picks 5 and 6 plus pick 7 the Draper compo pick, to us for pick 2 and the Hawks first rounder.

That should make James Turd very happy, seeing his beloved drug rats pick up the greatest young talent in the land ever .......... since they picked up him.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but if hawks finish 8th tonight do we get their pick based on end of home and away or after finals position? Hypothetically if they win the flag from 8th do we still get what I believe is currently pick (12)?

No way do they come over here and beat Freo in a final. They'd be a decent chance against GWS in Syd imo.

GWS have GC covered in every way imaginable. Freo are mentally weak under any expectation and GC's first ever final at Optus is a recipe for disaster.

Finals as others have said, but still useful if they finish 8th, as it’ll always be the lower pick of the two exiting teams (eg if Suns and Hawks both get eliminated, we get the better pick of 11/12. If Hawks win one week then go out alongside 3rd place, we get the better pick of 13/14, and so on).

No, it was something to do with GC next game I think.

Sydney airport has a curfew for flights between 11pm and 6am, usually means that teams playing at night there can't get back home the same night and have to wait for the next day. So the game was scheduled for the arvo slot to allow for it.

Edit - Looks like Gold Coast airport has the same curfew so, can't fly back the same night from Perth
