What’s one step above a ‘lol’?

John McCarthy died because he was high as a kite on a Vegas trip and jumped off a roof.

I can’t think of an award more fitting for Willie considering some of the dumb decisions he made in his career

Edit. I actually don’t hold any malice towards Willie and if he’s doing community work that’s actually awesome.

From port board

"Threaten to kill bailey dale, wins community award. Im ok with that."

🤣

Comes across as one of the bluntest tools in the box, but Willy at his best was a delight.
Smart enough to come away with enough dosh to pull bongs and go mudcrabbin' for a long time...livin' the dream. Good luck to him.

A lot has been written about how much we shat the bed on moving on the rebuild trying to grab another flag - but interestingly, our list never got as old or as experienced as Collingwood's is right now. Let's be honest, if they didn't get hit in the arse by the F/S unicorn rainbow that is the Daicos brothers, they'd be ****ed right now.

If Collingwood don't win a flag this year, it's hard to see them not falling off the same cliff as they lose the Dad's Army part of their squad - will they suffer the same scrutiny for it? (Or will the AFL look the other way while they raid GC/GWS again)

The big difference is that the Pies are an MCG tenant who have just about the lowest travel burden of any club. Should we not be asking questions on this? Isn't the fact that Collingwood are managing to rock a much older squad than we ever got to still into finals* a pretty good indicator of the massive benefits of being a Melbourne club over everyone else?

Then shouldn't we (meaning WC/FR/PA/AD/BR/GC/SY/GWS) all be pointing hard at it and saying "how ya gonna fix this?"

*I reckon had 2020/2021 been normal seasons, we'd have played finals in 2021 as well.

From the Carlton board, who are quick to amend the title of player threads it seems:

1. Jack Silvagni choses that Rabble from Linton St

...hasn't St Kilda achieved more than Carlton in the past 20 years? Bit rich to accuse them of being a 'rabble' especially when this off-season indicates they are going somewhere, at least compared to Carlton.

Best quote I heard was the dilemma for TDK

Would you rather play for St Kilda with no chance of winning a flag, or get paid $5 million less to play for Carlton and also have no chance of winning a flag

To be fair, most of St Kilda's buying spree is because Ross Lyon has zero idea how to develop a squad and is desperate for some sort of short term fix.

Makes my blood boil when I read their fixture and they don't leave Melbourne for weeks at a time, repeatedly. Geelong similar. Richmond.
You could apply the same WC biased Vic-mantra to them - 'They're a rich and powerful club, they should be able to get themselves out of it. Their situation is a result of bad choices made, why should lower clubs needing handy picks be penalised for that' (and anything else Hird and his fellow goons stated)

Even with that - which I agree - St Kilda have played in more Grand Finals than Carlton since Carlton last won their flag. You'd also argue they had more genuine shots at a flag than Carlton too.

Collingwood recalling Mason Cox for their final against Adelaide

As if I needed another reason to hope the Crows get the job done

Mason cox appearing from nowhere to play finals is akin to Michael buble resurfacing around christmas with a new album.

Ok I will ask if nobody else will..

When did Jack Silvagni become a highly desirable player?

Have I missed something?
