The washing machines and laundries will be running overtime...it's almost exciting, we've barely recovered and moved on from the last split pick trade.

Name one good thing Liam Duggan does consistently on the football field because great disposal. Leadership, ability to defend, start a scoring chain, lock down on a forward isn’t an answer to the question.

He puts his body on the line.

Plenty of Negative is said about Duggan, and deservedly so, but you can't really knock him for ever having a pea heart.

When it's his turn to put some body on, go back with the flight or run through someone, he does. He also leaves very little out on the field at the end of the game. The effort is there, the skill isn't.

No way is someone that only kicked 20 odd goals worth pick 8, he's way past his best probably only worth a 3rd pick at best.

Your right. Ryan alone isnt worth pick 8. Thats what the OP said.

Thats why we added pick 19.

And the reason many commentators are saying Saints will split pick 8 to land multiple players.

Ryan PLUS pick 19 is splitting pick 8.

He’s to slow to run through anyone anymore.. the Fyfe moment was a decade ago.

Michael Collica was a trier… he was also better than Duggan

Spot on. He’s tough and will stand up for the younger players which isn’t something that can be said of many of our players over the last few years.

Duggan is normally the receiver in the backline when under high pressure and has to dump kick. Put skilled flankers or speedy back pocket near him with an actual plan on rebounding, he would be a pretty solid player. IMO. And you cant teach heart, he has it in spades.

Like Chesser
I’ve gotta say ; Chessers finishing surprised me.He was finally realising what a weapon his pace was.
He tackles well and loves a goal. Wouldn’t he make a good pressure forward?

Been fishing in Kakadu all week. Now recovering. :thumbsu:

Thanks for asking.

And Im retired from mega trades......
Awesome, many Barra?
I thought about putting the boat in this morning but we’ve got westerly winds blowing and the local GF between Cable Beach and Towns is on today, half a dozen ex WAFL players in the teams and a real rivalry should be a cracker, you can’t beat country footy, real passion.

I hope you know your tag was meant with all the love BigFooty has to offer. Wasn’t a dig. The exact opposite.

Hope you had a great trip.

Liam Ryan has requested trade officially to STK after recent medical .

Surprise, surprise .

Deny it hold him to his contract

trading him for a 2nd round pick means nothing for us

we are losing a quality player and getting peanuts in return

ask for Steele or windhager......if that falls through....keep him

I dont want to improve the Saints Side by them getting Ryan would rather Ryan not even play at all

Usually I'd say 'Now it's up to the Saints to satisfy West Coast on a trade'

But seeing our pathetic history of trading in recent years we're probably just gonna accept the Saints pick 43 which will get pushed back into the 50's after all the compo, academy and father/son picks and just move on. Fair value in return doesn't exist with this club anymore.

Would like a future pick coming back with 8, something like a 3rd or 4th.

As it stands Ryan and 19 for 8 is about a pick in the mid 20s.

Something bigger at play here i think.

We don't seem to be standing in his way, we had no problem with him doing a medical apparently.

Unless Hill or Ah Chee is coming what's the play here?

We don't need draft capitol so it makes me think there has to a larger picture we're not seeing here.

You mean re: the fact he had a medical?

I think we’re happy for him to leave provided we are adequately compensated.

It is good to see the oublic posturing that he’s a required player but i have zero faith that we’ll extract fair value

I know your needs are what is important here but is there any room at all to consider what Ryan wants?

But if you put skilled flankers and/ speedy back pockets in our team you won't need duggan...
With ginbey, baker, hough, allan, grego, johnston still hanging around and the new HBFers we'll draft there's not a whole lot of room for him.
