Something like 9 + 19 + Acres for 2 + Chesser?

Seems like a wildly favourable deal for Carlton but can't see what else would be involved in terms of the players linked either side and the picks we'd be getting.

Unless Silvagni gets band 1 which would make it 9+10

Yeah, seems a bit weird.

Unless we're trying to bank picks to get Port's from GC as well. The assumption is that WCE are feigning interest in CDT to see what they can flush out form Vic clubs. I suppose if they rate the talent from 10-20 evenly then I can see that happening. Having said that, Carlton will clearly be looking to trade TDK compo to avoid it being eaten up by a Dean bid.

Would be pretty rough to lose Chesser now after he's finally looking like getting a good run at it though.

No offence, you appear to have come in peace, but that deal sucks for the Eagles.

We are still raw from being bent over for Mowies and that terrible pick swap last year.

Thank goodness our draft team stepped up after that.

Not saying it's definite, but the man who broke our clubs pick swap last year before any media caught wind of it just posted on our Bluemour thread with another head scratcher involving ur mob.

I'm reading this as 9 & 10, which will be 11 & 12 after Allen and Draper compensations. I don't see how this cuts it, even without Chesser. Add Chesser back in and more is required from the Blues' side.

Needs a lot more work to make it work unless we have something lined up with Richmond, Essendon, Gold Coast and/or St Kilda.

Oh no, I agree. That deal is terrible for the Eagles.

Just relaying that the same guy who broke the WCE Carlton pick swap last year has written another is on the cards involving those picks. Mind boggling stuff if true.

Think that is a serious overrating of barrrat

Awesome, many Barra?
I thought about putting the boat in this morning but we’ve got westerly winds blowing and the local GF between Cable Beach and Towns is on today, half a dozen ex WAFL players in the teams and a real rivalry should be a cracker, you can’t beat country footy, real passion.

First couple of days were really good, then shut down and got hard.

Two boats across 4 days 114 fish. The other boat had pros and caught 70 odd.

Lots of freshwater saw sharks on the sounders, big one's too.

Top of the South Alligator.

PTSD...No not pick 2.
Why do we need to help Carlton. They screwed us last year and gave us magic bean (Owies).

NO!

If my memory is correct Ryan debuted in 2018, so he has spent the last 7 years being part of a club in constant decline. Despite this he has performed pretty consistently (when fit) and never really dropped his head as far as I have seen. If I was his employer and he wanted to leave to guarantee himself an extra years income at the end of his career I wouldn’t make life difficult for him. For a club in WCE’s position, trying to lure players without the promise of on-field success anytime soon, there would be real value in showing that you are a fair employer.

I'd agree on all fronts. Wouldn't go near it if I were running the show at WCE.

But then I remember u traded in Owies last year... So anything could be on the table 😅

I think 9+10 for 2 would be fairly close with a swap of Chesser and Acres if they were both intent on heading home to their home states.

If you lot try and include Motlop u need to fold the club though, he's even worse than Owies. Worst player in the AFL getting regular games.
Nah 9+10 isnt really that close this year, too many academy kids and the difference in quality there is too great imo, last year was very even this year not so much.

If it was 6+10 id go for it but 9+10 is just a bit too little

Do not want Motlop haha, you guys can keep him

We don’t even have the list spots for these picks. Plus can’t see Clark and Don splitting again with the heat they took last year and even more so with splits that low. Essendon seem like the obvious split if that’s the part they go down.

That's been the club's trouble.

We've been too willing to bend over backwards and put the players wishes in front of the club.

It's not about being fair to Ryan, it's about our getting overs for a contracted, required player.

Ryan and pick #19 for Stk pick #8 .

Then if Carlton trade rumours occur ( No) then we have #1 #8 #9 anyway .

Probably got it wrong .
Stk won't be happy but Ryan is required / contracted .

Would like a future pick coming back with 8, something like a 3rd or 4th.

As it stands Ryan and 19 for 8 is about a pick in the mid 20s.

Surely pick 8 for Ryan + Pick 19 is as good as it gets for us, right?
I can't see Saints agreeing to that trade TBH and we may need to send something back to them.
Such as pick 8 for Ryan + Pick 19 + our future 3rd (or Pick 29 should we only intend to take four picks early this draft).
Forget the pick values, as that really isn't relevant for teams who are not matching bids.

Also shows you can be weak and the exit door turns into a revolving door (if it’s not the case already). You want value in a trade just the like Saints would want value in a trade if they trade Wilkie, Marshall ect

It'll be 1, 9 & 11 after Allen, Draper and TDK compo

Unless the player swap includes Sam Walsh that’s the hardest of hard passes from me.

The only reason I see us doing a deal like this is as a precursor to another deal. Maybe we're happy not to have 1 and/or 2 but want more presence in the top 10/20?

The beauty of pick 2, is that it's BEFORE the rest of the FA compo and academy shit starts impacting the rest of the draft. It's a genuine pick 2.

2 for 9 and 10 is pathetic seeing as they'll more likely be 2 for 14 and 15.

A pick split offer to turn our head genuinely has to actually be a godfather offer. Meaning it's supposed to be clearly in our ****ing favour.

Is Silvagni actually any chance of Band 1? I haven't really paid much attention to that

My very strong preference is to keep picks 1 & 2.

Happy to trade the others to get up the order or fo players, but anything else would have to be so compelling that we all could see the benefit.

For a draft the has a top 3, then thins out we would need a Walters type player and a low 1st or future 1st, or 2x1st and a f1st.

Please WC take a self interest approach !
