I have no idea about Dew's senior coaching prowess - the Suns were somewhat of a poisoned chalice and from the outside he did well stemming the exodus of players without any overly impressive on-field success. I believe that he was very highly regarded as an Assistant at the Swans and on that basis alone I am pleased that he is an Assistant with us given that we have struggled somewhat to attract experienced coaches in the past.

In all seriousness, Danny Daly would Fages' replacement if it's an internal appointment.

Well one thing is almost certain - if they both apply we will lose one or both in the post Fagan wash up.Maybe whoever wins the fight between Dew and Daly
Ideally DD to remain as footy manager but he sees himself as a coach even though he pulled out of the Melbourne race.Well one thing is almost certain - if they both apply we will lose one or both in the post Fagan wash up.
Not sure I'd be backing someone who has overseen the West Coast injury list to fix such a big issue![]()
Not coaching per se but I hope they review the high performance function this off-season. 7 years of finals and short pre-seasons isn't going to help, but the management and rehab of injuries this year has been atrocious. The claim of having the best medical team in the business is nothing but a myth
Players came to Brisbane for the best rehab. Now they come to get injured. Somethings gone pear shaped. Not coaching per se but I hope they review the high performance function this off-season. 7 years of finals and short pre-seasons isn't going to help, but the management and rehab of injuries this year has been atrocious. A lot of it is really pot luck at the end of the day especially the contact injuries which we seem to have had a few this year. Although admittedly the soft tissue injuries have been a bit higher this year, but Eric’s calf could’ve been because he was carrying the knee. Lachie appeared underdone last night, which could’ve contributed to the calf etc.Not coaching per se but I hope they review the high performance function this off-season. 7 years of finals and short pre-seasons isn't going to help, but the management and rehab of injuries this year has been atrocious. The bigger concern though is the amount of ACLs we seem to get compared to other teams and our ability to get those guys back up and running without any issues. I know we’ve spoken about this in the past, but I hope we are looking into all we can do to best avoid those types of injuries.

At least wait till the other clubs’ rehab groups arrive before we start spruiking our high performance team has gone to shit.We shouldn’t do a review because continuing to pretend we have an immaculate injury record is a plus for recruiting purposes.
The ACLs have been my main gripe; Linc re-rupturing, and both Doedee and Kiddy experiencing swelling and subsequently being shut down for the year in their comebacks. Eric playing with a partially torn ACL for nearly 6 months is the cherry on top.A lot of it is really pot luck at the end of the day especially the contact injuries which we seem to have had a few this year. Yeah forgot about Kai. I also remember McKenna and his hamstring early last year being a bit of an issue with respect to coming back to play and whether he was ready etc. So yeah, you probably are right they probably have dropped the ball a little over the last 18 months. The ACLs have been my main gripe; Linc re-rupturing, and both Doedee and Kiddy experiencing swelling and subsequently being shut down for the year in their comebacks. Kai's ankle was also poor handled earlier in the season.
Unless you have the competence to know and are fully conversant with the medical facts around each case of injury diagnosis and rehab then it's purely guesswork but on the face of what's been observable and public knowledge I can understand why anyone would want to question what's happened with our injury management.
The combination of many tough games ,shortened pre seasons and the desire to stay near the top of the table is obviously a big factor.
