It really is a bit depressing post season

At this stage, we have 3 players nominating to leave that have already selected a club to go to and nothing coming back the other way

The squad is bordering on something akin to foundation club status, the last game of the season vs Sydney has some interesting stats

Average age 23-314 - 26-298
Games played 1546 - 3192
22 or under 14 - 2

Same comparison Vs Richmond

Average age 23-314 - 25-223
Games played 1546 - 2248
22 or under 14 - 9
Which is why picks won't do, we need to turn those into players.

Can we afford to be this picky? He’s a star and leadership on field would be worth it even if he didn’t want to coach afterwards.

Literally nobody wants to come here and you’d say no to Neale if he didn’t want to coach afterwards?

IF Neale (and Brissy) were up for it, he would actually be perfect to sit in the midfield next to Harley for a year or 2. Can't believe thats even a debate tbh

Genuinely thought it was just a bit of running joke though, have seen zero credible reports its even a possibility

Isn't Neale a bit of a risk now, age and finals injury? Starting to break down?

Not at all, for what he would bring to the midfield and the support and help he would provide our young mids he would be almost priceless. Exactly what we need.
But dreaming I think.

I should've known better.

When you have it in for one of our players, and let's face it you do for 99% of them, you just cant give any credit.

You were still calling Waterman a spud when he was AA.
What credit should Ryan get? It’s alright to through out random stats but seriously there is nothing there to say we have to keep him.

No, I referred to him as Junktime which most people have taken on when he is referred to be it in jest or mockery.. I also said he wouldn’t back that year up this year.. and I was correct.

You predicted he’d require a shoulder reconstruction and miss more than half the year?

Deep down I always knew there was something off about him. In my desperation to fit in with the WCE board clique - chiefly made up of the cool girls HoneyBadger35 & pantskyle - I supported him despite my internal warning signs saying he was probably a sovereign citizen sympathiser. And now his true colours have come to the fore, it's die-hard supporters like me that are left to clean up the mess that Chesser has left behind as he moves onto Carlton where he'll win multiple premierships and Brownlows after I carried him on my shoulders for years.
Say what you want about Chesser. One thing is undeniable; his yes be yes, and his no be no.

In this case, his no do indeed be - a no.

When you're talking about the elite professionals like Neale, no.

Similar to Pendlebury, who fractured his fibula in 2021, at age 33, needing surgery. I remember all the talk then about his impending retirement.

He will cheery ripe come round one. Even if we have rest him 6 games a year for 2 years he will play more footy than Chesser in the same period😜

The other thing people need to keep in mind, is he is a stake holder of "Ball Magnets" with Tom Mitchell. Playing on beyond next year helps that part of his off field income as well.

Even with elite teammates like McLuggage, Ashcroft etc, Neale seemed to be the one who attracted the tag whenever it was used by the opposition. Even if he does nothing other than take the tag of Harley, it's a no brainer. Even if they do still put the tag on Harley, Neale still more than capable of filling his socks up.

Who cares? He's a bonafide star and leader.

Neale wouldn't be coming here to lead us into our next finals campaign - He'd be coming to lead, set elite standards, & support our young mids for 2-3yrs.

It's a Mitchell to WCE, or Hodge to Bris type move. It'd be a salary dump for Bris, & cost us minimal draft capital.

Would love the rumour to be real

He's played 21 games this year. One more than Elijah Hewett.

He had time off and played last Friday and still was Brisbanes best. He is a star for sure. he could give us easily 3-4 years.

Hope not. We need at least 1 Saturday afternoon game for the kids

The AFL will continue to give us poor tv spots and a majority of Sundays while we continue to perform as we do. We are in no position to ask for anything. We are the bottom of the barrel and need to fight for everything until we get back on track.
