Sumich on radio this morning laughed at the prospect. Quote " I know Lachie and no way he comes to WCE as will only be for money and he has enough".

Please Please WCE list management - Pay what ever to get Neale on list. Worth the price to shut him up.
Sumich said it ain't happening??

You know what that means????

It's happening!!!!!!!

Pretty relieved to hear Neale isn't considering a move. We have a list spots squeeze and don't need it further complicated.

You're totally right. Adding a two time Brownlow medal winner who still puts up monster numbers compared to our starting midfielders would really complicate things.

I'd hate to see it throw our structure out and potentially force a talented player off the worst team and list of all time.

We'd be a real basket case then.

Apparently Jacob Blight had some attitude issues at Richmond. Refusing to play a certain way in a system, perhaps a reason why he was cut despite being good enough to play AFL.

Overheard him at the Perth v Claremont game saying the Tigers have shocking culture in his time there.

Interesting. MCQ, Baker and Graham will know exactly what went on. If we don’t list him I could only presume it’s due to attitude.

Until I hear Brad Hardie prattling on about how West Coast are fools for recruiting Lachie Neale I won’t believe it’s happening
Well he did say he saw 2 pigs flying across the screen when talking about it this morning.

Not just did Tim Kelly make us trade away and entire decade, now he's list clogging players like Chesser out of the side.

I heard from a friend he was in Utah yesterday.

Not sure how TK going on a holiday in his time off is related to Chesser wanting to leave

Thats just poor drafting then. You move out the pick or do something else with it.
If it's a poor draft, why would you think other teams would be interested in the pick? If no-one else wants it you'd have to make do.

So long as his holiday hasn’t included running across a university rooftop…

Yeah, it was, I don’t want to draft him. They’re not even close to the same player. The comparison is Luke Jackson and he averages half the hit outs he did at his Jackson’s age. He’s wank in the ruck, inaccurate shot on goal. I just don’t see it, and I’m probably just digging myself a hole and convincing myself more by saying it but if we draft him with 1 or 2 I’ll be livid.
So you're aware of where I stand with him...If we're only taking two picks inside of the top 5 and not getting cute with our draft hand then I'd take Duursma #1 and Sharp #2. I still think CDT is a very interesting prospect though, and wouldn't sook if we somehow ended up with him.

I just find comments like "Barnett 2.0" to be arrogant. It implies that you think you know more than professional, full-time scouts and recruiters, in that you somehow already know he's a complete bust despite the general consensus being that he's a talented and very high ceiling prospect. Some players are ranked highly on their tangible output (Sharp being an example). Other players are ranked highly on their raw potential. That is CDT. You might not like it, but that is just the way it is.

Clearly, the pros are seeing something (or many things) that you are not. For all you know, he might be incredibly driven, have outstanding leadership qualities or other less tangible aspects to his game/persona that recruiters are well aware of and that you are not. Do I profess to know exactly why he's ranked so highly? No I don't, but on the flip side I'm not getting all worked up about how shit he is and calling him a bust before he's even had a shot in a professional environment. You don't know what you don't know. Save your tears for 3-4 years time if he's on our list and has gone backwards. THAT, would be Barnett 2.0.

*Draft and list discussion going on....

Out of nowhere: Tim Kelly made us trade away and entire decade, now he's list clogging players like Chesser out of the side. He also in Utah the campaigner.

Sure, hopefully we'll announce the delisting of Barnett, Owies and Johnston soon. We did it with Langdon, why not these guys?

We for the most part agree.

I never claimed to know any more than anyone else. It is simply 'here is number 1 ruck in the class he can be Luke Jackson in the future', is half the ruck that Luke Jackson was, and I end up obviously displeased. If he was actually a good ruck I wouldn't have any issues with it, but the problem is that he isn't dominant and we are in no place to be taking speculative picks. We need talent AND production that while not guaranteed IS bankable. That's Sharp in my eyes.

Like Sharp? Who's such qualities are widely reported and praised? I'm not saying he's not like that, but we would've probably heard about it by now in the draft process when we have about other players.

I don't think he's going to be a bad player, but I don't think he is our long term ruck, and frankly he doesn't look like he'll be anyone's ruck any time soon.
Save your tears for 3-4 years time if he's on our list and has gone backwards. THAT, would be Barnett 2.0.
Exactly why I called him Barnett 2.0 in the first place. Best ruck in their class that looks a sure thing. Obviously it is massive hyperbole to describe CDT as Barnett 2.0, CDT will at least be a good KPF in the future. I just don't see #1 ruck in the next 5 years nor do I see #1 pick over at least 5 or 6 other names.
