I reckon all political public figures would be reviewing their security, not just conservatives. Both sides are getting shot at an increasing rate.

Apart from the 60's when Liberals were getting shot left, right and centre, we've not seen a period like this.

The victim most similar to this is probably Fred Hampton. Not directly political, but the leader of a grass-roots political movement.

But instead of a lone gunman, Hampton was killed by the FBI and Chicago police and the County.

It was entirely predictable. Less abortion means more children die because those who doctors know won't survive in the world still have to be born. It's illegal in Texas to have an abortion even if you know the child will die within minutes or hours of birth. So you might find out at the 12 week scan that the baby is going to die, then spend the next 28 weeks carrying it, give birth, then watch the child die.

Charlie supports supported putting women through that because his imaginary friend had a book translated by semi-literate goat herders and it says so.

These are real people stoking the fires of hatred and insurrection on the most popular social media platforms on the planet and backed by the White House.

We've seen the results of this sort of language before.

After the events of January 6 2021, only a partisan fool would still think that such language led by leaders of US government and industry don't have real and tragic consequences for their democracy and its institutions.
