There are those who worship a player who was great in the wet (they say he could walk on water) and who was known for his amazing comebacks. They claim their man was drummed out of the game because he sought to overturn the player payment system and was subsequently crucified by the umpires. ‘Head to Head’ these worshippers have a terrible record against The Lions, losing every encounter, but they have one saying that the FOOTY GODS ENDORSE. In their Holy Footy Record, one supporter writes, “By their deeds thou shalt know them.”

Yes indeed, by their deeds thou shalt know them. Look, mortals, at your Mighty Lions when they bring their ‘A’ game. They are untameable.

Last week THE FOOTY GODS punished The Lions for dropping Bruce Reville and keeping Sam Day in the team, but this week Chris Fagan, has repented on Reville and sacrificed Day. In response, THE FOOTY GODS will lift the curse we placed on Charlie Cameron after the first goal of the Geelong game and bless The Lions. WE PROCLAIM THE LIONS WILL BE VICTORIOUS AND THEY WILL DEVOUR THE SUNS, JUST AS THE LIONS DID REGULARLY TO THEIR OPPONENTS IN ANCIENT TIMES AT COLOSSEUM STADIUM.

We decree, LIONS BY LOTS! Further, we bless The Lions for resigning Ryan Lester, persisting with Ty Gallop and recalling Oscar McInerney. For these deeds we will lead you to another Grand Final and another Premiership! We will bless your older players, who are superstars and we will provide a double blessing to THE LION CUBS, especially the Holy Trinity of Ashcroft, Ashcroft and Fletcher. Abundant goals shall flow to Morris, Rayner, Lohmann and Bailey. Cameron will prove the doubters wrong and Gallop will have a BREAKOUT GAME.

As it is written, so shall it be.

THE FOOTY GODS.

So surely thanks to Adelaide taking one for the team and being a top our side to go out in straight sets, breaking a record in the process, we should be all good tonight. Such a shame GC didn’t have to travel further to add to their weary legs.

If we can get on top at some point, the wall might hit for them pretty suddenly. Of course the same could be true for us after so many injuries and such a hard draw this year.

I worry about our forward line. Funny we have lost more backs but they are easy to replace. One of the forwards needs to get off the chain.
Take your pick Doc > Kai, Charlie, Logan, Cam, Zac, Ty or O. Personally I'd pick Charlie to have a blinder(unlikely on form), him firing will really get the Lions crowd up and about along with lift his teammates. Most likely to be a game breaker for us tonight IMO is Zac.

Get the job done boys, I'd love to make another trip to the MCG for the Prelim v the Pies.

LLLLLLLLLiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiioooooonnnnnnnnnsssssssss!

I read a David King quote on Instagram posted by SEN. Couldnt copy and paste it, but he said; "Theyve got to put the game in the hands of Rayner. He needs to play midfield without Neale".
More on the topic. Scroll down. Article plus video.

My opinion of it is Rayner hasnt got the tank for it. Thats why he is forward. Still, i recon he will be rotated through the midfield. Hes strong and hard to tackle, and Suns mids arent big. Rayner could make himself into a superstar with a match winning performance. Up to this point he has mostly under delivered. Time to step up.

I just have no confidence today at all.
I mean
Starting at 4:30 at Southbank for sherbets and a light dinner .
I feel I might have had one too many sherbets to appreciate the spanking we are going to give little brother
Where’s the wooden spoon.
Take this Humphrey ,and how many times have I said “put some pants on.”
Bless him.

Got a serious case of the meh’s for this one. If we salute I’m forking out $ (albeit not much) for a prelim ticket to a game I don’t think we’ve got much of a chance in. If we lose I’ll put it down to the hardest draw in history and our injury list (whilst shaking my fist violently at missing top 2 - seriously, how the **** did we not beat North).

Top 2?

Hopefully extreme loyalty by the coaches during the year will be rewarded with a winning performance. Injuries considered the lions have failed to find or develop any new refreshing talent this year. Coaching both in the 1st and VFL has looked stale at times. Our good enough has certainly been just that during the year but our bag of tricks is just about empty and the form of a few questionable at the moment. If we can get dirty in the trenches and stay with the suns we should dig out a memorable uplifting win that will worry our next week opponent.
Come on lions we’re cheering for you .

Hey, not sure if this is the right place, but I've got a spare to the game tonight. If anyone is keen, shoot me a DM. Face value or best offer is good, but you'll be sitting next to me and my friend haha

Could be a choice of GC, Pies, Hawks and Cats after tonight. Might be the last game of footy watched for the year, if this plays out the way I worry it will.

Think whoever wins tonight is playing to get knocked out in a prelim anyway, but would be nice to win at least one final this year and then re-set for a huge offseason this year.

I really do think whoever wins tonight has got a very good chance of beating the Pies, what looked an impressive win last week v the Crows is not all that impressive in hindsight after what the Hawks did to them last night.

Agree regarding the Lions winning part.
The Suns might just lack that finals experience with a Pies majority 90k crowd.

Get over the Suns tonight without any more injuries and i am fairly confident we beat the Pies next week.

... feels like the season just started yesterday, yet here we are on the edge of a cliff.

Will we fall off? Season done?

...or be clever and continue on the journey we started with determination and lots of grit?

We'll know tonight.

It's a game fraught with danger but that's what makes this team shake off those moments where things could get out of control....the grit and determination digs in, and the boys say bugger it, lets get this done!!

Onwards and upwards, you've done it before, you can do it again.

...and we are right there behind you. Not easy but you can do it.

:brisbane::heart:

Big O's addition this late in the season is pretty tactical, uplifting.

Hope he plays well and kicks a few.

Time to make amends for that round 20 game. Get it done Lions !

Him throwing his weight around at clearances might be handy to negate any advantage Rowell and Anderson gives them around clearances
