I think Danger was rested for 5 games this season. Perhaps not as many as prior seasons given they had the second easiest draw and were beating up on the bottom of the ladder most of the season…

But I hope Fagan was taking note for what we have to do with Lachie next year so he is fresh and not limping into finals.

You can when you have a super easy draw, but hard when you have the hardest in history.

Showed a few glimpses of vulnerability at times without Stewart though, interesting about the concussion sounds like they may have accepted it now ?

I’m not a danger fan, but geez he makes things happen for them, very impressive game from him. Bailey game was overstated, got plenty of it but a few really bad turnovers. Holmes got going from the back half again.

geelong's incredibly soft run comes home to roost with that dangerfield performance last night. no chance he had something like that left in the tank if they were required to scrap and fight for every win like we were in the back end of the season.

Quite a few key players for Hawthorn had a pretty poor game as well.

Geelong very impressive. Will start favourites in the GF regardless of who they play. Stewart will be a big loss. He killed up in the first final. Imagine Stanley comes back in and Blicvas goes back?

Danger was amazing and played one of the great finals matches. Not sure he will be able to back it up next week but even half the impact will still create goals.

Also nice to see him reinforcing what we all knew - he flops as good as anyone and has been conning umpires for years. Geelong fans embarrassing themselves screaming at Rayner when this guy plays in their side and does it consistently.

Thought cats got a good run from the umpires when they needed it at critical times when they were in a bit of trouble. Gunston non goal, Danger marking clear on the full, some strange play ons, inconsistent 15 mtr calls etc. I hope we get some different umps next week. ( if we make it!)

That's turned out to be the advantage this season for Geelong in that every other finals contender including the Bulldogs have been bashing the heck out of each other and getting banged up while they have just been able to nurse, manage and cruise their way through. Every other side has had to be in the red zone endlessly for months on end which is so unusual and it shows, Geelong meanwhile have been able to keep something in the tank.

I still think this will bite them next week but man, we are massive leg up to get there compared to every other contender.

The soft draw and the ability to rest him through the season. Big reason for Geelong and Collingwood being in the final 3 is being able to nurse their older players to be ready for September. Some people here have mocked it all year but its done the job
