List Mgmt. Welcome Campbell Chesser (Pick 14, 2021 National Draft)

We owe Chesser nothing. If we are only going to get pick 30-40 from Carlton which which blow out and be near worthless in a draft pool lacking depth we send him to the PSD, sometimes you have to cut off your nose to spite your face to send a message and take a stand.
Won't happen, he has the same manager as Harley and they're mates.

I agree wholeheartedly. The same reason I want us to play hardball with Brisbane over the Starc.
Show some spine, lads.

Zero faith in that happening after last trade period.

I also wholeheartedly agree with this.
Damn it, you lads are supposed to post spicy hot takes so we punch on and make Keysie earn the mod hammer privelages.

Wasn't Masten pick 3 in the same draft that Adelaide got Dangerfield with pick 10 ?
Masten was a good pick when you look at the west Australians that went immediately after him, who west coast absolutely would have taken.

If we're too scared to make a tough decision because we don't want to upset his mate or manager, we're worse off than I thought.
What tough decision? Send him tot he PSD because we want a pick Carlton currently don't have?

Let's be honest here, while I like what I saw from him to end the season and would much prefer he stayed, he hasn't exactly done anything to warrant us playing hard ball with him to 'prove a point'.

If it wasn't Masten it would've been Palmer.

Neither were super inspiring, but at least Masto got 200 games.

And Dangerfield around 350 games. The Crows and Cats have got their moneys worth out of that player.

Should we also talk about how we didn’t draft Simon Black it’s about as relevant as the 2007 draft which was 18 years ago

For me, it's all about us making a point/stand.

That's the point, not the player.

We can if you like, Keysie.

You know who you can draw a loose bow to here? Brad Ebert.

I felt he finally started to show a little bit of consistency despite blowing hot and cold and then he went and demonstrated his trade home to Port Adelaide.

It’s frustrating. What did we even get for Ebert? I remember it was way unders I felt.

Just like we’ll get unders for Chess

Yes but it was considered quite a reach by Adelaide at the time and Dangerfield had no intention of leaving Victoria until the following year because of his school.

Adelaide were slated at the time as it was roundly expected they would draft the more ready-made home town hero and member of SA footy royalty.....Brad Ebert.

So it was more astute drafting by Adelaide, albeit he did bail on them in his prime.

The Eagles pick was all about Masten vs Palmer vs Cale Morton - 3 top rated WA mids.
So in that regard, we did ok.

Also drafted out of WA that year was Harry Taylor and Alex Rance - both before our next pick (after Ebert, the slider) which was Tony Notte - who I still think we gave up on too quickly considering how long some others hung around - Notte went on to have a high quality WAFL career and I think he could have made it with more time at the top level.

Just try not to think about Cyril Rioli going at 12 either. 😬
No room for Notte with JK and Darling.

I must have imagined Hawks losing to Port in the Semi last year in arguably the best game of the year.
Sorry I skipped a year. The rest of it still stands, and a lot of hindsight is being used here for something that was a pretty even gamble in the first place.

What are we standing for exactly by doing that then?

Nisbett did that with Brander and everyone cracked the shits we didn't try to get something for him.
With all respect he was hopeless. laster a year anf delisted by GWS after being dropped for the second half of the season. For being uncompetative.

Oh I get he didn't do much but that's my point. People were pissed we tanked his potential trade value yet are suggesting sending a bloke with more value to the psd, simply to prove a 'point'.

What point are we meant to be proving exactly?
