We got them. Doesn't matter.
People will rightly get nervous, it's a Grand Final after all, but previous results mean nothing, Cats didn't pull some BS trump card in the QF that was a 1 off advantage, we simply played the game we have played for the latter half of the season.
THEY have to beat US.
Love this insight!

Replacing whom, would you say?

Or do you mean certainly in the VFL?
Ryan Lester is one of those players clubs love and everyone outside underrates. Poor bastard will probably be asked to stand Jezza at times in the GF, clearly undersized.

A previous injury? Not sure you can align the two. Anyway, we’ll know in the next 48 hrs. I’m not concerned.
After a bit of googling the foot he injured last night was the one he has a rod in to pin the navicular, not the one he did a lisfranc in.

That's my worry, is the nerve issue related to the rod holding back the bone stress issue because I'm pretty sure it took a long time for him to come back despite there being "no structural issue"

I do worry about Henry's foot combining with Stewart out. If Henry is proppy or out then that backline gets thin quick
The midfield protected our backs very well last night.

Plus we have a new back, Holmes 😹

Hehe yes, but the idea I'm pushing is that he's not in our best 22 atm, nor are either of their rucks, nor Gallop; and I didn't even get to asking about whether Bruce Reville would be getting a starting 22 spot for us. And Starcevic is line ball.

It's worth remembering this. Their top end is ELITE. The reputation is scary. But it drops off spectacularly.

Yeah but remember when they tried to bring him back from that injury initially and said there was nothing structural but he was out for ages due to pain?
He’ll have a jab when he needs it

The fact that he was able to come back on is very encouraging. He initially looked like he’d ruptured his Achilles or broken his ankle. To be able to get back on the field so quickly is a positive.

I tipped the Lions against the Pies, just didn't really rate Collingwood and they had a few players go into today's game underdone. Their forward line was literally a one-man show in Elliot, they lack firepower and their midfield got smashed.

Lions are into their 3rd straight GF, that's no fluke, they have well and truly earned the right to be there once again. They'll play Neale, how fit he'll be who knows, Berry looks like he'll miss, and looked like they had a few sore boys after the win today. We have no Stewart, and Henry will play but probably won't be fully fit, other than that our health building into the finals and the finals so far has been as good as it can be, we are primed and ready, and Dangerfield is in beast mode.

Will be a cracking GF, i do think it'll be a close one, they have a lot of heart that Lions team and a fantastic coach.

I just got home and saw the final score. Not surprising. Collingwood's biggest weakness (IMO) is their forward line, and I thought the Lions' defence would be too strong for them and restrict their scoring. I don't think Pendles' going out was their demise because if they're a good team, then they should have been able to cover for that (like we did with Tom). Oh, well, bring on the Lions in the Grand Final.

just saw a video of Bickley and Adam Simpson discussing Dangerfields game.

We can talk all we want about McLuggage and Neale, but it’s not easy for their players to break a tag and get the ball when Dangerfield is now in the midfield 80% and hunting the ball with true ferocity.

It’s not like previous games where it’s an A+ midfield (them) vs a A- midfield (us). There’s also a beast thrown into the mix that skews everything.

We can go hard with Atkins and co, and suddenly go to 9,000 revs with Dangerfield in there.

And Holmes is coming up with speed from that backline too.

This is the great tactical update from Scott. Just when everyone thought he was a forward that could be starved of contests, you put Danger onto the ball - where he can rack up touches and be influential for most of the game. And at the same time we go with lockdown players to starve their best mids…

And while Brisbane are a clean kicking offensive mindset team, we have the same thing on our side with our mids and forwards. And ours can run all day.

Gunston is the #1 rated player in the AFL this year for lead up marks, plus he came second in the Coleman and was all Australian. Not much that any key back could have done with some of those goals.
Gunston aside, Jack is quicker and more agile than he was in that game. My main point is that he was not going well
