Starcevich line ball!! Please. One of the best defenders in the game. As for Lester - Cameron towelled him a few weeks ago but the two times before that he beat him hands down. He would walk into your side.
Ryan Lester has had a good career to date. Seems like a decent player.

But that QF he had 2 weeks ago against Geelong was diabolical. Like wake up in cold sweats and hope it was a nightmare stuff. Probably the worst individual performance of the finals. At one point in the second quarter Brisbane simply couldn’t give a place to hide him. It wasn’t just Cameron that towelled him, everywhere he went he was getting torched or making blunders.

I kinda felt sorry for him. Kinda, but not really.

May he pass this contagion onto his 21 team mates next week.

I think we would have smoked the pies by 10+ goals yesterday.

They were there for the taking and still hung in with the Lions for a good amount of time.

Pendles out early... Basically, Daicosx2 in the middle and that was all.

Sidebottom to Luggage was a sign of how much they lack a balanced midfield and he just crushed.

Howes coming back from weeks out and just going.

Key forwards of: Mihocek on one leg, Cox (dud) and a DFA in Membrey... No Hill... Basically, Elliot or bust.

That Adelaide/Pies side of the finals draw was in bad form leading into the finals and it shows now.

2x best teams made it.

I pray the Lions prove to be as cooked as I thought they were a couple of weeks ago.

My two cents worth:

There's a lot of people saying that this year's Grand Final could be a repeat of the 2019 Grand Final. Richmond were flying along...absolutely humming....their opponent was GWS who in the Preliminary Final against Collingwood beat them by 4 points (MCG). From memory it rained and it was close hard fought contest. The following week GWS went into that Grand Final - their first one. They were cooked and had stage fright and played a very strong opponent. The winning margin was 89 points.

Fast forward to 2025....Brisbane Lions win a somewhat hard fought Preliminary Final against Collingwood (MCG). So heading into next week....will they be cooked? They probably have a better team than GWS (2019 Grand Final) and unlike GWS, Brisbane aren't afraid of the MCG anymore.....certainly in recent times: winning 5 out of their last 6 games at the venue. Their most recent loss at the MCG was against Geelong by 38 points in the Qualifying Final a few weeks ago.

Maybe its a case of, Geelong win easily or if its close then Brisbane have a chance to win? Brisbane should be battle hardened too.

Anyway as a neutral I hope its a close contest.

Definitely not at 2019 level.

My entire family are wild Tigers fans and I remember saying that it was a deadset free GF win for them before that game (which it clearly was).

GWS were going on fumes and had from memory travelled 3 or 4 weeks in a row, + they hardly won at the G and were coming up against a stronger and rested/ready Tigers team.

I hope it ends up that way... but the Lions are a strong experienced team... they done it the hard way against the odds last year, so they have belief and have been on this stage before... and whilst traveling 2x weeks in a row... its not going to be as much as GWS did.

+ we have Stewart out and possibly Henry so we are not fully primed with our best team.

2019 was an all the chips in on the Tiges type setup... legit free money.

Not like that this year v the Lions IMO.

McRae was pretty good in the presser.

Stark contrast to sniper Bitchell.
Agree, watched it today... He was a class act.

In saying that, I still think those two teams are on different trajectories going forward.

Pies should start falling off the cliff very soon... Hawks will get stronger.

Yep this was Collingwood's last chance for a while I reckon.

Coll last 3 months or so form wise was not great.

They fell into the top 4 after being 2 and 1/2 games clear about half way through the year due to GCS ****ing up.

Everyone lauded them beating the Crows but look at the Crows from for the last 5 or so games it wasn't great and they didn't win a single quarter(or so a Crows fan friend tells me) in finals.

If the older players keep getting injuries or decline they are screwed without some magical drafting/recruiting.

Based on these comments from his press conference, Fagan isn't ruling out either Neale or Berry
From what I've seen in the media Berry's shoulder dislocates really easily - they can only really arrest that with heavy taping of the shoulder unless he has some sort of reconstructive surgery.

He can play, but one heavy bump and it might be curtains.

He aint missing a GF for that.

Bad look... Maybe a fine... No way missing a GF.
Yep not a good look but a free kick it seams should have been paid this came up with the Miers shoe throwing incident some years back..........
McLachlan said Miers was lucky not to give away a free kick.

“I’ve just got (a text) from an umpire who said he would have awarded a free kick ... essentially (for) misconduct,” he said on commentary.

“They’ve been told if Mason Cox’s goggles were interfered with, or GPS units, or Bruce Doull’s headband was thrown away, that’s misconduct (and a) free kick.
