WOW, if that isn’t ridiculous overs I’m not sure what is.

Curnow is good but he’s no Buddy Franklin.
It’s about right, IMO. Hayward is the only piece in that deal that is particularly appealing. Sydney are moving on from Florent, 11 in a weak draft is a bit meh and the same goes for the 2026 1st which likely falls post 15 (and likely goes towards matching a Walker bid). I think Carlton will eke a little bit more out by the time it gets finalised.

The prelim final was JDG Go time
and he went missing
They spent the whole year getting him right to ensure he could perform at that moment
I think Fly and co must be pretty ruthless and unforgiving if you let them down when it counts
Mistakes are fine, but going missing maybe not
Nah if that were the case Lipinski would have been on the scrap heap yonks ago.

I would have put Hayward’s trade price in isolation as an early to mid round pick. I believe Carlton would have offered at least that plus more last year when they chased him.

Add to that pick 11 and a future first rounder and that’s three pretty high end FR draft picks.

Plus a player in Florent who might have fallen from previous heights but is still pretty handy and started in 16 games out of 24 for the Swans this year.

Yeah, it’s overs for mine.

Tbh florent is a salary dump.

All 3 of Ainsworth, Hayward and Florent were free agents last year and would be in between $600k and $750k, if your Carlton you take florent off that deal.

Then again, Voss is coaching for his life, might want as many senior players as possible.

We’ll see. Word is Sydney want 22 back so this deal is dead in the water because Carlton won’t do that.

De goey made massive progress during the year, I did think he was cooked. Pre finals the club stated he was further progressed than they expected. With a preseason, without hindrance, he would deliver much more. A finals match winner is gold.
So how do you explain the fall away in his form from the first final to the prelim? Sure the hit he took obviously knocked the stuffing out of him, but he hadn't contributed much prior to that hit and certainly had never looked the matchwinner we needed him to be. Only the club would know the true nature of any chronic conditions he may be carrying e.g. groin.
