Essendon don’t won’t him to nominate. They’re trying to control the narrative but I was told it would happen this weekend. We’ll see… I think a lot depends on what the Bombers are telling him behind the scenes.
He is prepared to sit out next year if they don’t trade him. They pressure will be turned up
Norf should be offering those to club to take him!Latest rumour is Norf want two firsts for Simpkin.

AFLPA will fight against player contracts apparently! At what point does Zach get the AFPLA involved for mediation?
In the Know thinks Trade Week ends Friday not tomorrowMerrett deal will get done.
Scott's meeting with him went south. According to what I heard, Scott was laying out a revised plan for 2026 and beyond with their new leadership. Zac cut them off saying "my minds made up". Meeting finished an hour early.
Theres going to be conflicting reports until the end of the week. It won't be done until Friday but it will get done.
Serong worth a first round pickThat was exactly my thinking, Serong deal should be enough to land Pick 17* off the Suns.

genuinely deludedAll the media has been doing on this potential trade is channeling what Essendon wants. Funny how every single piece is about what Hawthorn needs to do. It has all been a one way street with them. Lloyd doing his bit for Essendon again. I keep saying this. We need to walk away from this madness. We have shown our hand and it is a very good one so there is every chance there will be clubs inquiring with potential offers now. My guess is that things will change dramatically over the next 24 hours. Also, we have depth even if it is young. The new 5 interchange rule opens up another spot on the bench so there are plenty of players that can be rotated during the course of a game meaning giving players greater experience and a bigger mix in the middle (understanding that we already utilise 2 rucks in Meek and Chol). Move on.

They are legit unhinged. Like, I love footy but **** me if I ever turn into a poster that has 100k posts of pure drivel and claim to know everything about my team to score Big Footy likes just shoot my account in the head.I’m enjoying the Rolodex of ‘**** Essendon’ classics their foamers in chief are reeling off in rage right now.
We’re currently at the ‘let’s bat off about the drug saga 12 years ago’ stage.
Lloyd on Sewell probably gets a run soon if they ever stop rubbing themselves raw over the above. Then line in the sand. Goldspink and the 2001 prelim. Sheedy and his smelling salts in 1984. Essendon being gazetted as a suburb.
sorry devin townsend fan number 1They are legit unhinged. Like, I love footy but **** me if I ever turn into a poster that has 100k posts of pure drivel and claim to know everything about my team to score Big Footy likes just shoot my account in the head.
if they just want McKenzie, that’s fair. But we keep our first and future first . A straight swap would be a lot closer to a reasonable deal.. Cam will be an elite player in time and it will be in brown and gold.
Acutally the last half dozen pages is an the who's who of Hawthorn trolld on Bigfooty... I hope they're getting paid by post.
It's peak BigFooty poultry yard... the exact moment the whole coop realises the gate’s open and everyone comes out flapping.
Every few posts someone yells “Lewis!” like it’s a magic word that changes the trade maths. The Judd comparison gets resurrected for the 30th time.
The cognitive dissonance here is that if any other club made the same offer, it’d be called “a monster bid”
But because it’s Hawthorn, the badge itself triggers years of stored resentment — flags, arrogance, 80s trauma, 2013–15 PTSD. So “neutral” supporters aren’t neutral... they’re exorcising their own Hawks fatigue.
Pick 9 + F1 + F2 + Hustwaite (F2/F3)
That’s a total draft-value index haul that eclipses Dunkley, Dangerfield Neale, Cameron, Curnow and nearly equals Judd for a much older player.
There is no precedent of a 30-year-old player being traded for that much. None. Not even close.
If this were, say, Sydney chasing him, the media would spin it as “bold list management to fast-track contention.”
Why “neutrals” are siding with Essendon
They’re not neutrals.
They’re anti-Hawks sentimentalists... supporters who still remember years of being flogged by brown and gold. They see this as payback theatre.
So every take is emotionally inverted... Essendon are being strong actually means:
“Hawthorn aren’t allowed to win another trade.”
The cognitive dissonance trap of Essendon posters quietly admitting they take that offer (“get the sook out”) but the tribal reflex kicks back in seconds later..
“nah it’s unders… but overs… but junk.”
They’re not processing numbers.
No club (none) would have offered a better deal.
Not Carlton, not Sydney, not Geelong. They’d all balk at the two first round picks alone.
Hawthorn’s was literally the ceiling of what’s reasonable for a contracted 30-year-old.
So you’re right... it’s not that neutrals are siding with Essendon... it’s that everyone loves to see Hawthorn told
“no” for once, even when logic says the Hawks played it well.
We're ****ed, this is up to 7 signatures now. The pressure is building![]()
