1. This was the drug cheats decision.
2. Given it was there decision, they will have made the wrong choice.

Could you possibly imagine committing to another rebuild, allowing Draper to walk for sweet fa and then refusing to trade a player that doesn’t can’t to be there for 3 first round picks, out of what? Pride?

Sam needs to focus on getting together a game plan and a few alternative ones for the cattle we've got, rather than chasing his ideal talent and depending on other teams to help us out.

Huss is a good example, instead of making him try to fit in with the senior team game plan where he struggles, come up with an alternative that can exploit his skills and abilities better.

We have two decent draft picks that will go towards mids. Looking forward to it and facilitates good squad balance.

Carlton also got a shitton better deal for Curnow than we did for Merrett.

Whoever MM is didn't walk away. We did you moron. He waited until the 11th hour to put together a shit package, tried to strong arm us, and then came back with the same package.

It would be wise of Merret to look after his body and injuries if he wants a crack at finals.

I’m thinking a long pre season in Europe to clear his head and look after his mental health and get his soft tissues under control then a mid year pre season so he can get back for the round 22 tanking matches.

He will have 3 really good years if he keeps himself out of harms way.

The only people that feel like they are winners is Welsh and his Cohorts. Along with the Essendon Media Mafia. What they fail to realise is Zach will be more determined to leave next year. Will be justified in playing the mental health card lowering his trade value way down.

Petoro would be majorly pissed off, and will unlikely be willing to send players to Essendon and send any of his remaining clients out of the rabble.

Others clubs will be reluctant to do any trades with them. Any decent player that they try to get, will say thanks but no thanks. That club is going to implode further next year. Watch the players that are close to Merrett, try and leave.

We made every reasonable effort for Merrett to leave, by offering a very generous offer. The only other thing we could have done is leave a horse’s head in Welsh’s bed.

Why we do need to bolster our midfield, as it is our major weakness, we still have the talent to play finals. Hopefully we can see improvement from guys like Buttler, McKenzie, Ward and Finn. So while not ideal we have missed out on our major target, it does give some incentive for other players to improve.

Would love for us to chase [PLAYERCARD]Bailey Smith[/PLAYERCARD] as a FA next season. Have another crack at Zach next year. Start getting collateral for Harley Reid in the coming years.

Ps. If any of our players decide to be traded to Essendon, I hope the club tells them we will get you to 16 other clubs, but with that 1 you will have to test your luck in the draft.

I don’t care what anyone says, 22 isn’t a first rounder in the sense of anything and 2027 is the Tassie draft where every pick is basically doubled in number. That Hawthorn had that pick in 2027 which they think will be #30 or something as the sticking point is ridiculous, surely you just do that if you’re as good as they think they are.
