That's the thing. If he was in any way competent and could see the the populace was behind him and his government, he would do everything above board and wouldn't have to change course. The reason he is going all authoritarian and dictatorship is because due to ongoing age, failing health, failing cognitive ability, falling popularity, he has to resort to strongman tactics because he knows he is slowly losing his power. That itself is a good sign.

If it was Russia or Iran, then you could shrug your shoulders and say its done. But the US won't let it go on indefinitely. It will eventually come to a head and his fall from grace will come with his minions disowning him.
I wonder. I have a feeling Trump is trying to establish an authoritarian regime because he likes the idea of an authoritarian regime for its own sake. He looks up to Putin and Xi (even while instigating a trade war against China).

That doesn’t mean that he’s not also incompetent, stupid, psychologically and mentally impaired and possibly in poor physical health.

Effective leaders know the difference between visions and dreams. Trump always dreamt of being a great man, but when action was required was found wanting. Hid at the back of the room when classmates were trying out for contact sports, under the bed when peers were off to war, behind his father when bills fell due, and transfixed by a TV screen when Infrastructure Plans and Healthcare Reforms were required. All mouth.

Even had to rely on brothels and mail order wives throughout his life. A pitiful excuse for a man.

You forgot has such a frail ego he cheats at golf and sticks up fake club champion trophys.
For some reason thats always the thing that really nails how insecure and actually pathetic he is.
Its a game and he still has to cheat like a toddler so he always wins.
What a miserable, insecure, lonely deluded **** he is.

Teeing up Trump for an assault on KRudd shows exactly the priorities of Newscorp as an organisation. Absolutely unnecessary and downright pathetic.

As reports of ‘Kevin Rudd gets a dressing down from Donald Trump’ dominate the news cycle, few people have questioned why a Sky news reporter thought it would be appropriate to bring up Rudd’s old tweets about the US president during a press conference, following a $8.5 billion minerals deal between Australia and the US on Monday.

For no other reason than to clearly stir up trouble, Sky News editor Andrew Clemmel enquired how Trump felt about what the ‘Australian ambassador’ had said about him in the past, referring to a deleted tweet from 2020, where Rudd had called Trump the most ‘destructive US president’, ‘a village idiot’ and a ‘traitor to the west.’

These comments were made before Rudd was appointed Australian ambassador to the US.

Trump’s very own vice president JD Vance has made similar comments about the president, once referring to him as “an idiot”, “reprehensible” and “America’s Hitler.

As the one of the sharpest burrs under the saddle of Rupert Murdoch, Rudd has faced the full force of his wrath over the years as Murdoch makes sure to to sic one of his hell hounds on him at any given opportunity.

This comes as Rudd became Murdoch’s number one enemy when he tried to introduce NBN in 2009 , which would have put Murdoch owned businesses such as Telstra and Foxtel out of business,

In 2023, Rudd called for a Murdoch Media Commission of Inquiry in Australia to investigate media diversity and the conduct of media outlets – particularly News Corp.

Ironically enough, the billion dollar mineral deal made yesterday pales in comparison to the money Australia would have received if Rudd’s proposed mining tax had won in 2010, which would have resulted in Australia having a sovereign wealth fund proportional to its natural resources.

That was however, quickly abolished, as fossil fuel lobbies spent billions advertising through News Corp to get tax thrown out and Rudd replaced as Prime Minister.

More to come.

What scumbag behaviour from Andrew Clennell.

On a mattress filled with money, with ear plugs in, to block out the noise from her ancient billionaire husband’s CPAP machine.

Yes it is scumbag behaviour. Still, rather Trump knows we think he’s a campaigner than fawn all over him as so many do. Even that cretin surely can’t respect the obsequious arse kissers.
