A Tassie team is a bad idea anyway. It doesn't have the population or the draws to be able to keep a good list together anyway.
They have lot more people who will care about Tassie AFL Team Compared to GWS and Gold Coast

Agreed... thats today. GWS/Gold coast are young and growing. They have lot more people who will care about Tassie AFL Team Compared to GWS and Gold Coast
The stadium discussion is about a 23,000 seat stadium - and they won't fill it very often. GC average 21,000 per home game and rising fast. A higher percentage in Hobart is into footy, but the overall numbers just won't be there. So why did they get the Liscence in the 1st place then? The stadium discussion is about a 23,000 seat stadium - and they won't fill it very often. GC average 21,000 per home game and rising fast. However, it's TV really that bankrolls the game. Attendance doesn't matter much. You could have a team anywhere - as long as you can get good players to live there - that's going to be the issue for Tassie.

Considering how animated you've been in this thread tonight, I can't help but wonder if you sticking your fingers in your ears and saying "that's just like totally your opinion man" in my response to you was simply borne out of your disapproval of the idea of a Tasmanian AFL team.Correct me if Im wrong..... agree with the TV/revenue component.
But wouldn't the stadium itself need to be commercially viable, unless TV revenue cross subsidies its operation? Or AFL expects the Tasie Govt to subsidise operational costs (and profits).
I dont believe snoop dog will tour Hobart
Did you look at the wrong figures, sr?!: https://afltables.com/afl/crowds/2025.htmlThe stadium discussion is about a 23,000 seat stadium - and they won't fill it very often. My sides, what idea do you have about what I do or do not know? You provided a statement that you know how each upper house member will vote. I say, thats your opinion, as you dont know how each member will vote..
If thats animation, youwould get very excited at the hobart casino
Lol..... neither do you of i. I i can tell you you dont know voting intentions of each and every member of the upper house... is that your claim... you do?My sides, what idea do you have about what I do or do not know?
Yep it will favour them. The implemented rule change won’t impact wrestling rucks and if anything it’ll favour them further. They’ll now know where the drop zone will be at every centre bounce so they can engage earlier. At least with the centre bounce they had the doubt of the ball getting away from them in flight or if the ball favoured their side the leaping ruck could jump over the top.
I refuse to answer that question on the gorunds that I may incriminate myself.Did you look at the wrong figures, sr?!: https://afltables.com/afl/crowds/2025.html
2025 Average:-
Home Games (inc. 2 games at Marrara): 15,679
Carrara (9 games): 16,704
H&A: 21,621
It's not the throwing it up that will change things - it's no crossing the line - they won't be able to engage early to protect the ball drop and stop blokes jumping over them. The implemented rule change won’t impact wrestling rucks and if anything it’ll favour them further. Their home attendance average would be boosted by playing against Collingwood.I refuse to answer that question on the gorunds that I may incriminate myself.
Don’t forget incompetent. Their new dock is a joke. Every chance that if the stadium gets built it will have the wrong field shape.apologies, i should have used clearer language, additional funding.
Tasie is broke, poor and the outlook is lets say, trend
yes, agreed, thats why i used the word "trend"Don’t forget incompetent. Their new dock is a joke. Every chance that if the stadium gets built it will have the wrong field shape.
I like it better, looks much more cleaner.
I agree.I like it better, looks much more cleaner.

I think you’re right there. For the Gold Coast to have an average home crowd of 21,000 they would have to have nearly a full house for almost every game, which clearly isn’t the case. They’d probably only have one full house a season, against us,which is what happens for virtually every interstate side we play against.Did you look at the wrong figures, sr?!: https://afltables.com/afl/crowds/2025.html

That was my issue, it was just yuck to look at.I agree.
And most importantly, it's black & white. Not red & white![]()
Yes, for sure. This shows the nine games they hosted at Carrara in 2025 (they also hosted two at Marrara): https://afltables.com/afl/teams/goldcoast/allgames_vn.html#32I think you’re right there. For the Gold Coast to have an average home crowd of 21,000 they would have to have nearly a full house for almost every game, which clearly isn’t the case. They’d probably only have one full house a season, against us,which is what happens for virtually every interstate side we play against.
