It is so typical of this football club that the one guy on the board who we wanted to drive change turns out to be a nutjob. We just cannot have nice things.
How many times do you reckon Koch has said "this is why the board can never become fully member elected"

****head.

A club that's been member driven all it's life. A Creed that was forged not from apathy or navel gazing

but the passion of hundreds of thousands who've stood on terraces in all weathers, shouting their guts out

demanding more. To David Koch I say this, to all things Ports you are a stranger

I've been thinking for a while now that this thread has essentially become:

Sack Hinkley 16 - Warren Tredrea (Football discussion only)
I was thinking it was more:

Dechair Koch and the Board 1 - Warrren Tredrea.

We have a board that no matter how useless they are, they get to stick around as long as they want.

Koch has to either walk away himself or physically die. That's the options.
Same for the rest of them.
Is this unprecedented?
It is absolutely sickening and those board members are soulless parasites.

I think we have to tell people about our board crisis.

This thread has basically become about Koch and the Board, both topics have their own threads. Closing it for now until Warren says or does something new to refocus discussion.

I post this here because the [PLAYERCARD]Warren Tredrea[/PLAYERCARD] thread is closed albeit temporarily. Like it or not the Tredrea dismissal is a hot topic and it involves more than just Warren and David Koch. It is as if someone threw a stone into the middle of a quiet pond and the ripples move outward in ever increasing circles rocking all those in the path.

The link below will show [PLAYERCARD]Josh Carr[/PLAYERCARD] has now become embroiled. The media are having a field day and as far as I can tell no one has ever suggested that [PLAYERCARD]Warren Tredrea[/PLAYERCARD]'s Membership would be cancelled. [PLAYERCARD]Warren Tredrea[/PLAYERCARD] is a Life Member and cancelling a Life Membership should entail more than a simple we don't want you letter.

Can I suggest that the [PLAYERCARD]Warren Tredrea[/PLAYERCARD] thread is reopened or a new thread set up at the moderator's discretion?

Well that didn't last long. Seems there are some new angles to discuss and dedicated threads to be saved.

The ABC's take on that press conference was all about Tredrea :(

"Tredrea hosts a podcast in which a guest, British Army veteran AJ Roberts, was criticised by the Jewish Council of Australia for promoting "far-right, antisemitic conspiracy theories" and Holocaust denials on the show."

We went through this on the Tredrea thread. The Communist in Jest went through the whole podcast. Holocaust denial is not mentioned once. This is a clear misrepresentation.

Absolutely nothing wrong with what Carr said. It was in fact, the exact thing I would expect any leader at the club to say
Yep. A very clear, precise, and honest statement from Josh Carr that is 100% accurate and football related. Exactly what was needed.

"Nothing changes from what Tredders is to our football club,"

"He's a past player, he's a legend of the footy club, he's one of the greatest that I ever played with — if not the greatest in the AFL era.

"So from that point of view, he hasn't been kicked out of the footy club."

"He's off the board for obviously the reasons about what is best for the football club and the board made that decision."

Video won't play for me, did they say anything meaningful (other than TazD comment which sounds promising)

At around the 23:45 mark, Richardson said "Shortly, the club will proceed with a process to replace Warren as a member-elected director, so members will have the opportunity to nominate and elect that director."

At 25:20, Richardson confirmed "The board has resolved it will definitely be a member-elected director appointment."

So, they won't be parachuting someone in for the remainder of Tredrea's term.

Still to be determined, I guess, is when an election might be held. Every football decision the board makes will miss Tredrea's football expertise, but there may not be that much football-department-related business before the board between now and when the men's season gets underway next year.

Lets get FishingRick04 to run he'd be a popular follow up.

Two names likely to crop up. Cassisi and Abernethy.

Abernethy made it obvious he was keen to have a crack during his sports report last Saturday eve on channel crow.

For those on Facebook, it's on Ch7 F/B.

This is the exact reason I have not renewed my membership yet.

ABC News website

"Port's chief executive officer, [PLAYERCARD]Matthew Richardson[/PLAYERCARD], said Tredrea's removal was a governance matter.

Reasonable people understand what the issue is," Richardson told reporters on Thursday."

Reasonable. Just like it was reasonable, in your opinion, to keep Hinkley on for thirteen years, you fecken gimp.

Cassisi didnt get the GM job so total shoe in for this spot now. ****ing board.
Duncanson .... Richardson ...... Abernethy are all very close and that's why Aber was lined up to run against Warren.

Fiacchi and Abernethy are very close, that's why Aber didn't run against George.

Duncanson and Cassisi are close. Not sure if those 2 are as close as the 4 above. Duncanson still has ambitions I'm told.

If 'reasonable' is code for 'normies,' then yes, most reasonable people thought keeping Ken for thirteen years was alright.

Wrong.

Great player - was never board material and has now confirmed it.

The best example of why people like WGT should not be on the board was todays presser - on a day where we wanted to hear from our new coach and GM they end up having to answer questions about the wing nut.

One of our best players, perhaps our best AFL player - but srsly no individual is bigger than the club.
