I mean if you want to handicap your team by putting you in it then sure, we'll take the free gift :)
You might be 11 hours behind me, but that joke is about 23 years behind our humour ;)

I think the sad thing is that 23 years ago the year still started with a 2, I'm old 🤣

Having flown direct from Perth, via Singapore, Doha, Hong Kong and KL, I would take the direct flight any day (unless you're really trying to build points) just not having to go through additional screening and navigating international airports, and avoiding the extra 2-4 hours stopover is worth the difference in cost.
That's the thing I'd like to avoid. Plus if there were any delays you could miss your connecting flight. That's why when I book a stopover I make it around 3 hours.

Once when leaving we boarded the plane in Perth and then just sat for around an hour before it even moved. A thunderstorm came along and we had to wait until it passed. There were a heap on poms on the flight who must have been part of a tour group. When we got to Dubai there were staff waiting to get them to rush through security to get on their next flight.

That said, if you are planning on doing a stopover, Singapore Changi Airport 95% of the time. (And Hong Kong the other 5% if you absolutely can't get a good deal that goes through Changi).
I've only done it in Dubai airport, not really a fan of it. Sometimes you get lucky and the gate you need is close by. Other times it can take you nearly 30 minutes if the gate you need is on the other side of the airport. You have to go up and down lifts, escalators and that underground train thing they have.

I've only heard good things about Singapore airport but have never been.

I just did a quick search. It seems expensive. Maybe a three hour stop off would be worth it. Never had a problem with it before.

As I said I woud be flying into Milan so the train from Rome would probably negate that.
Qantas is exhorbitantly expensive. I usually fly Emirates/Qatar home from Dublin because unfortunately Singapore and Malaysia don't fly out of Dublin and no one else flies to Adelaide :(

I've only gone Emirates and now I have used up all my points I am open to most airlines.

What is Qatar like, both the flight and the airport?

Flight is as good if not better than Emirates, airport is spacious and very nice, but a little soulless. Ive been a couple of times now, the food court is pretty meh but the new garden is nice. Can get quite busy though thanks to all the transitting.

Wife, 1 year old and I are flying Emirates home for Xmas (home for me) in a month, hopefully the 1 year old survives it!

Benchwarmers FC - surprised this lot havent been relegated.
If true you'd hate to be the club that's lost a GF to the Bad News Bears.
