“I am doing everything in my power to make sure I am part of the next Essendon premiership,” Martin said.

“My job as a leader is to make sure Isaac Kako, Nate Caddy, Angus Clarke, Archie Roberts, these types are there as well have lost no confidence in what we are building. I am going to do everything in my power to make sure I am there for the next premiership.”

Nic Martin - genuine leader

Can’t wait for him to be back on the park.

Oh boy. Wonder how he slipped, was it during rehab exercises or did someone leave water on the floor of the gym, or was it out on the track.
I never like how a player is in a rush to get back, always can lead to accidents by pushing the timeline too quickly

Or maybe it was simply one of those things.

If it was out on the track it would be very disappointing, but yes we don’t know the facts yet.

He's definitely been back out on the track - not that there's anything wrong with that.

Is still only 24 and our 2nd best player.

Take it conservative and hopefully we can protect him from himself, with his keeness to get back. Seems a smart player so can get him to help coaches if he is out for the year already.

Suprised to see him training, I thought he would be mid year at best.

Mid year would be 12 months. You don't literally wait 12 months to start training again. 12 months now seems to be on the conservative side for returning to play.

Guys are back running in some capacity months after the surgery. It's just a long build up of running and training to get the strength back and a full recovery, but you've gotta start at some point.
