In terms of how what we did last night interplays with the current list, he was my first thought.

I don't like him in the middle too much because that's not where his value is so adding Sharp and Robey to him and Durham and creating a bit of a carousel of 185+ guys that can mark the footy overhead and take their turn between the middle and the forward half is a pretty tantalising prospect, but he will need to earn it now.

A few years old now, but this covers it; a bit of both. It's usually caught before it becomes full blown OP, it's also usually called 'groin soreness' instead now. A bit like how they now called a 'high ankle sprain' syndesmosis instead.

Is OP back? Or was it just cleverly disguised?

Melksham didn't work out as a mid with us but is still kicking goals with Melbourne where he has been more than a solid medium forward. Perhaps once Archie is fit, end the midfield time and just let him be a medium forward.

Perkins has shown he can hold his feet while being tackled and often has the strength through the hips to break a tackle. He's also a pretty neat kick that takes the game forward. All of this is useful as a half-forward that works up a bit higher.

Don't think he has that 360 degree awareness genuine midfielders need, but offering a marking target through transition and either delivering i50 or being a marking target himself probably utilises his abilities as a player.

He was coming along ok as a half forward imo, it's a difficult position to excel in. His couple of decent games in the middle meant we stuffed around with him there for longer trying to recapture the magic and he seems to have lost all confidence, plus the comments about a groin issue.

Archie gets unfairly maligned in a way only reserved for the truly crap players our club has had.

He will end up a 100 - 150 game player which is a good result imho. Sure, a serviceable role player compared to a star is classic Essington but people need to stop pretending he is s*&!. He's not
