Another player with a similar physical/athletic profile is Nate Caddy. The more I think about it, moving away from a tall forward line to a quicker more mobile forward line might not be the worst thing.

I thought Hamish's remark about him already having been earmarked for time as a wingman is interesting.

Could be another indication that Curtin's time as a winger could be reducing as early as next year.

Would have to assume his transition to the midfield is in motion. But they do love the tall marking wingman with a tidy left foot

I'm getting excited about Mitch the more highlights I see. :thumbsu: :thumbsu: :thumbsu:

From the few highlights like this I have seen, he looks to have very strong hands and marks with authority. His eye for goal is great and he has a long raking kick on him. Looks to move well and by all reports has a great tank already. It would be a dream if he ends up Gunston like

Cal had him No 8 in July, so we may have a good slider here.🤌

10th in August

Wondering if they’d take a punt on Cody Curtin as a ruck?
Doubt it, athleticism now seems to be what recruiters will look at with rucks and the new rules and Cody's not the most athletic guy and more a strength body on body type than a leaper. Think recruiters see him as a KPP that can chop out in ruck. Played KPF/chop out ruck at this year's Nationals, Played KPD as an underager at last year's Nationals.

Hamish said he was the most versatile player and that's why we wanted him, je has great endurance and good skills.

Maybe he'll be a [PLAYERCARD]Scott Stevens[/PLAYERCARD] or [PLAYERCARD]Mark Stevens[/PLAYERCARD] Mr Fix it type

I remember seeing him on the the train going to a crows match about 10 years ago. Good to see he can live his dream.
I always liked [PLAYERCARD]Ben Marsh[/PLAYERCARD] in the late 90s but he never eventuated to much. Yes injury hurt him but hopefully his son has more luck.

Had good skills for a ruckman. Perhaps Ben could come down to training to give ROB some tips ..

And every single AFL club passed him over. If every club did that he obviously had talent issues...
This is why its silly to say that. Clubs miss all the time. How many times do players taken further back in the draft end up better than the No1 pick?
Definitely not talent - I think in Pavlich's case it was injury that put recruiters off in his underage (17 year old) year. He made the SANFL Mens State team early the next season and had a big influence in his season with the Eagles. To be fair Ken McGregor was a good pick up, but Pavlich was an all-time. Had they chose Pavlich when he was 17, they probably could've picked up Ken the year after and had CHF and CHB locked down for 10 years.

Marsh looks more like a lead-up forward, rather than a contested player ....that's a tough gig at AFL level

Let's hope he has a better work effort than his dad ....who, for his undoubted talent, was one of the laziest footballers I've seen

Marsh gives me vibes of a Bayley Fritsch style FWD ....as others have said though, we won't know for 3 years min

He made a great effort of knocking poor females over at Joplins nightclub in off season in his day 🤣😳

The rule changes are playing a part in our draft decisions

The game will get quicker with less stoppages -

Marsh - great runner and ball user, he can get up the ground and play 3rd tall, HFF, wing or maybe across HB one day

RT - I think we are going to see him play more time in the ruck. Less stoppages will mean rucks need to be like a 4th mid

Van Berlo - He won't be ready for 4 years.

Congratulations Mitch. Remember his old man was a pretty decent footballer whose body probably let him down. Interesting to see how Mitch goes.

All traits for how Curtin plays the wing.

I reckon Marsh will end up on the wing or CHF.

Further away from goals.

He does not seem as one dimensional as guys like Gunston/Fritsch/Morris/Georgiades.
