Moved in with Liam Baker & Tom Gross.....I like this a lot.

#welfare check on Tom's Perth Dad

# Bakes improved kicking by osmosis living with Josh would be crazy good

Already turning some heads at training with kicking skills.

I went looking for it but couldn’t find the article but it was relating to Lindsay mid year where his teammates mentioned they just ran into space because they just knew he’d hit them up.

Whilst looking for it, I found this article.

This specifically.

Speaking on Craft of the Draft, Growden analysed the kicking abilities of some of the top prospects for 2025, with Lindsay among the standouts.

"He's poised, and the one thing I can see technically is the grip around the ball, it's what you want," Growden said.

"He does a lot of those slightly around-the-body type of kicks. So when I say around the body, you're getting your hips a bit more into it. He's going to be able to open the game up.

"Coming out of the backline, opponents aren't going to know where he's going. He gets that little bit of hip rotation. If he's coming out of the backline, opponents think he's going one way, but he can pull it back in and open the game up so much

We’ve had some good kicks at the club but I genuinely don’t recall the last one we’ve drafted being described like that. Maybe Hurn? Who also slid in his draft year too.

Hopefully gets a full preseason and we can see him in the Side early.

Not drafted but Jetta was the last player like that. Hurn kind of the opposite -- insanely accurate and reliable kick but very straight line and it was never a mystery where he was lining up to kick.

Can't wait to see this lad hit a left foot sizzler into the corridor at Optus. Hope the crowd gets up and about for it as well

My guess, plays round 1 and has a great year. Strong candidate for rising star. Year 2 and 3 all the attention comes to him and tags. How he gets passed that will see how great a career he can have. Wishing him all the best and he’s a gun for us.

pretty good small interview the club has posted, still seems very level headed and a good speaker. Hopefully he can make a debut early and lock down a backline position, we need more players with his level of class.

He's definitely someone I got penciled in for an earlier than expected debut. The way he talks about preparation, professionalism and doing extra work has been the exact kind of thing we've lacked from the guys we've drafted for the longest time

I’ve never been as impressed with the attitude of our draftees as I have this year. Exceptional young men and pretty clear we’ve put a high value on this.

Yep, it's been real refreshing. It helps that we were so awful and stone motherless last since day one of the season that Duurs and CDT have had the year to prepare that they're heading west and are looking forward to taking this head on, Lindsay was just a great unexpected bonus.

Lindsay sounds like great leadership group/ Vice captain material if he hits it off.

This interview really sold me on Josh spoke very well and would of been happy to have him with one of our top picks wouldnt rule out rule out a hayden Young style move to midfield and if i was a betting man hes defo the most likely to reach 200 games of our drsftees

Was maybe more low-key than the other younger players but was very good on Sunday.

Yes a couple of his kicks didn't come off, but was impressed with his composure with the hands in tight spaces.

Looked very comfortable at the level
He's strange, as doesn't pop off the screen. Maybe it's because he doesn't really stand out looks wise (he needs some bright boots, or a cool hair cut, or something), but just keeps getting it done.

2nd in meters gained, equal 5th in score involvements.

Not wanting to place too much emphasis on his first few games, but he does just look like a pro. No gimmicks, wants to come in and get the job done. Looks so dependable. Reckon he will be the player any of his coaches will see as being one of the best to coach.

I thought pre-draft, that he was the surest bet of all to get to 200 games. He just looks like a solid player and it wouldn’t surprise to see him get a rising star nod in the coming weeks.

He will work through the right options in coaching I think but it’s exciting to have someone happy to take the kick with the genuine skill to make it.

He’s just so neat with what he does that it doesn’t stand out.

For example, go back and watch his pass to Cripps in Q3 that allowed Cripps to run inside 50 and goal

Turned on to his left out of a pack and hit Cripps lace out with a perfectly weighted 30m pass. Wasn’t rushed despite a port player coming at him, made sure the kick was elevated enough to get over the port defenfer between he and Cripps but with enough pace on it that no other defender had time to get to Cripps

It was simply a perfect pass but he made it look easy when, in reality, it wasn’t an easy kick to pull of. Especially for a kid in his second game

Wonder if Bunga being the runner on Sunday channeled into his kicking. Very clean player, looks like he’ll be a handy one for us.

This kid will have the ability to play up around the midfield I think. He's one touch, and a very quick decision maker with fast feet
Agree with this - his vision is quite impressive under pressure.

That kick in 3Q was spotted and executed in about 3 steps with pressure coming on him from a stoppage.

A few turnovers off HB on the weekend - and some quite dangerous ones - but overall an impressive first 2 games from him. I'd leave him on HB for most of the year with some short stints on wing / midfield.
