A shame about the Hazlewood news, but it's not all bad that we are looking to the future.

From all reports, O'Neill, Richardson, Bartlett and Murphy all bowled well against the Lions. Richardson the clear standout with 4/39 from 12.

The future is certainly bright. Kellaway, Mcsweeney and Connelly all batting well. Konstas made a ton against QLD.

Boland currently is the alternate,

But we may need to invest time in some of younger Quicks like Bartlett and Morris.... Meridith perhaps but he's getting on in age too now

Edit Fergus O'Neil also but obviously he's more a medium than fast paced, he probably would do well in England though.

Boland is in the side so who is the reserve if it’s Doggett jeez

Need some genuine pace

We'll slow the scoring in the night session you'd think. Go into tomorrow 40 down with just 1 or 2 wickets falling.
It's a longer session so should see the full 30 overs at least. Can see us being even or less than 20 behind

118 overs in five sessions.

Averaging about 23 overs per session.

Both teams taking the piss.
Well we got them all out under 80 overs so we won't cop a penalty.... Will be funny if they do though.

They also won't get through 80 tonight if we still have batsman the new ball will be during the day time tomorrow. Good result really

Perfect scenario: We bat tonight and the first two sessions tomorrow

Then unleash the new ball under lights tomorrow with a bumper barrage and four fielders on the boundary attacking the top of off stump relentlessly.

What's interesting is that the scoring rates are very high for both teams, but the slow over-rate offsets its effect. In more traditional times, 334 and 228 after five sessions would be only slightly above normal as we'd be getting 85+ overs in the day.
