That makes sense if he's not fit. They'd said it would be one week when I last saw anything.

Bad luck for us and him if it's worse than thought.

But we're every chance to make that game... so the dream is still alive either way!
Yep 100%

Think there’ll be serious discussion with he and Lewis. Lewis can really stamp his name into the Grandfinal side (given they make it), depending on his prelim performance, this also goes the other way.

Fingers crossed for a 2018 Mason Cox PF performance this week

I think the lack of preseason, missing so many games and already being behind in terms of fitness as a young player he's getting a bit of DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) from these games. We saw then he came in against gold coast, then went out again and took a long time at box hill to look fit again and then after a few AFL games he's struggling to run out games again.

Lewis is having similar problems in that he's struggling to get back into it after barely playing for 2 years and also never really playing in these high intensity big games. When Mitch Lewis was last playing regularly we were a bottom 6 side playing meaningless matches.

Hopefully he has a massive pre- season could be a massive player next year and take a giant leap forward, like Buddy did between 2006/2007

Calsher getting a full preseason is going to mean everything to our forward line in 2026. He's got so many hard workers around him, and it can't not rub off on him.

There's a lot to look forward to next year period, though I felt we underachieved this year for a bunch of reasons (injury, unfavorable draw, two weeks of finals travel).

Plus, he doesn't yet have the default on-field confidence that comes with consistent high performance, experience and maturity (though I"d argue he's naturally confident in his own ability).

Calsher and Wiz with another year under their belts development wise is going to surprise a lot of people. Both have huge talent and self improvement built into them.

Cannot stress how excited I am for this kid to have an uninterrupted run at things.
Even if we weren't to get any off-season big recruits, Calsh and Day coming back healthy and getting 85% of the pre-season done will be a massive boost to us.

Big pre-season the key for him.. hopefully he starts to fill out, this kid could be anything

Looking at pics of the finals training he has already started filling out.

His quad are starting to resemble his dads. Just need the top half to develop a little, which should help is marking further.

Fricken awesome

The only way it gets better is if this is Calsher's break out season!

Just so much to love about what the Dear family has brought to Hawthorn over the years, and what Hawthorn has done to embrace them. Loved Greg, Paul and now Calsher.

The social posts are great too.

Maybe it's time to rewatch the v dogs final in 2024.

Got pretty close to completely tearing apart a final for a quarter, and was the best forward on the ground for that entire game.

The next step is to get this from him every week.

But I agree he's already a good, reliable key forward at AFL level, with patches most weeks that showed he was capable of a lot more.

Not bad at all for a 20 year-old with 26 games experience.

Getting his late dads number is a great story. I already love this kid and watching him play. Now its even more exciting if that is even possible. Go well son!

Found this during a clean up today
