No because we ****ed up the past few games without him, too. Inter plays a style we are more comfortable with.

We need to go on a win streak before we declare we are better, every time we win one it’s followed by a shit result
Did you watch the video? He even concludes it remains to be seen but Mo's offensive numbers are way down. His defensive numbers are deplorable but that is nothing new.

Undefeated the last 4 games, with 3 of them being away. Take away Konate's meltdown against Leeds and it would be 3 wins, 1 draw over that sequence with xG in our favour every game.

From where we were at that is an improvement. But ultimately we need strong performances by the back 4 (Robbo helps) if we are going to start winning most games again.

Everyone's offensive numbers are way down, the biggest problem is the defense. The fact of the matter is we concede 3 to Leeds and however many to Forest and PSV very recently and a lot of that was without Mo. That has nothing to do with the forwards, we're just badly set up defensively

Except Mo did start against PSV and Nottingham.

We've conceded 4 goals in 4 games since he's been out.

We conceded 11 goals in the last 4 games he played.

Agree. Which is why we cannot afford to carry players who are not defending.

And I am not sure what Isak and Ekitike are adding to the press, Gapko does not add much, Wirtz is ok.

I don't envy Slot - he is basically starting again

Buddy I'm telling you right now, Mo isn't why we defend like shit

This whole "blame one player for all our problems" shit needs to end, it was Wirtz, it's Mo now, it was Gakpo, now it's Konate. Slot hasn't coached a decent press setup even last year, we weren't pressing good 2nd half of last season either. His pressing system is just fundamentally not very good compare to someone like Jurgen. We consistently ran the least out of all the teams in the league last season

We can't deal with long balls and set pieces and none of that has to do with Mo. We looked like shit last season in the Woodison Derby against a David Moyes playing stone age hoofball, now most teams in England are doing that to us this season. Teams just figured us out and the manager hasn't been able to deal with it

We ran the least by design. Klopp was run through the wall, whereas Slot is be smarter and run around the wall.

Whilst I don't agree with everything Slot has done, I think his tactics last year were sound.

I’m not blaming Mo for everything. I’m happy to blame Gapko as well. And I am not saying Slot is perfect.

But, Mo has had a massive tantrum, it is not acceptable, and there is nothing in his performance to say he is untouchable.

Salah has been dropped on form. His performance or lack there of deserves to be benched.

No one is arguing Mo didn't deserve the start or that his tanty was acceptable, but I'm just saying he isn't the reason we've been shit. People were blaming Wirtz for "not pressing" earlier in the season when it was clearly BS, people just have a tendency to say "well if only this one player isn't playing we'd be so much better", it just isn't how it works

It went from "Wirtz at 10 makes us not press, Szobo has to play there", to "Mo on the right makes us not press he has to be dropped', to "Konate alone is costing us". The goal posts keep getting moved but the results stay shit, at the end of the day the problems run much deeper

And a couple of Konate brainfades against Leeds aside, we have actually been harder to play against in the 4 games since Mo has been dropped.

Of course he hasn't been solely to blame, but his lack of effective running (both ways) along with zero defending and poor conversion of chances - it was killing us.

We basically have Szobo on that right flank now and the energy + involvement he brings have been a class above. It might only be a short term solution but for now it is a useful one.

The lotg are clear on this, can only be disallowed for deliberate handball.
Late to the party on this, but I just don’t get how professional leagues can have a 5 minute VAR review for a scenario that they should expect to occur and should know to the letter.

for an attacking player, intent does not matter for the goal scorer themselves, and any goal scored by a player who handles the ball in any manner whatsoever will see a goal chalked off. However, in the build-up to a goal, any handball offence by a player other than the goal scorer must be considered "deliberate" to see the goal chalked off.

that’s a 5 second review to confirm the goal, not a 5 minute review to deny it.

We will have a fair idea after the Brighton game.

Having switched to something like a 4-4-2, there is no reason Salah couldn't play on the right of Ekitike up front, with Wirtz, Jones, Grav and Szob behind. Isak was livelier early yesterday but then drifted out of the game. Watching how Ekitike retains possession and drops deep to receive only highlights the things Isak is struggling at.
