Big Levi has signed on to play another season with Palmy in the QAFL next year. Great for local Gold Coast footy to have a player like him continuing to give back at the grassroots level. He trained and played with Dylan Patterson at PBC this year this year and hopefully he can do the same with other promising Palmy juniors like Paddy Fitzgibbon next year.

Still looks like he could play at the top level.

I reckon he could. He kicked 63 goals in 13 QAFL games this year and was given the league B&F award (Grogan Medal) as a result. Generally speaking, the best player in the QAFL these days is likely good enough to play in the AFL. However, Dimma knew this time last year that he had to get games into Walter so they decided to give him the clear air by delisting his biggest competition in Casboult and Day. I was a big fan of what Levi did while he was in our colours and I would've loved to have seen him go around again in 2025, but Dimma ultimately knew he wasn't going to be a member of our inaugural premiership team and went with the youth instead. It's just one of those tough calls you have to make to win in the future in the same way that a really tough call was made on Swallow this year.

I hope Casboult eventually gets an off field job with us because he's been a fantastic addition to Gold Coast footy (both Suns and local) ever since he made the move north. Plus, I heard that one of his sons has started playing junior footy so perhaps a future Casboult in the Suns academy could be on the cards.

[PLAYERCARD]Chris Burgess[/PLAYERCARD] has gone from a frosty, a runner up in the sanfl goal kicking and now…

Lining up for Paskeville next year. York Peninsula SA

Not the only former Sun who was on a run with the Sharks boys in the past week (who’s yet to play for the sharks that is)

Anyway, Day much needed after losing Buzza and Dixon

Bit of a journeyman it seems.

Recruited to West Coast via the old NSW scholarship program.

Then came 2 years as an Eagle.
Followed by 6 in the WAFL.
Then 2 as a SUN.

Some time along the way, he’s retired in QLD.

SA looming as his 4th state of residence.

It's done.....

Well done to former Sun Ryan Davis for this appointment :clapping: He played more games for us than he did for West Coast, so he'll always be more of a Sun in my eyes. Plus, Southport is where he really made a name for himself as a coach and he did fairly well for the Sharks as a player as well, including a best on ground performance in the 2018 NEAFL grand final win over the Swans. So he'll always have strong Gold Coast footy links atbot the pro and local levels.

Now Davis takes control of the most successful team in AFLW history, so there's plenty of pressure to keep the ball rolling! All the best and perhaps he'll end up back with us one day with either our men's or women's program.

"I absolutely love Dimma," he said. "He has been the best coach I've had so far; there is a reason he has won three flags and been so successful. The on-field stuff everyone sees that, but I think the off-field stuff that people don't see is the genuine care.

"He actually wrote me a letter – and this goes to show the character that Dimma is – he obviously knew that I was down on form and he wrote this massive letter and put it in my locker, expressing the person that I am and the person that he was when he was younger and the similarities.

"I always had the backing of him. It is disappointing that it didn't work out because they are probably going to be really successful under Dimma's plan; I'll be very surprised if they don't win one in the next five years. I loved all the coaches up there. Even the ending, I called Dimma as soon as I decided I was going to the Saints and it was a positive phone call. He told me if I ever need anything to always reach out because he will be there for me."
