A couple of young train ins today.
I am just not 100% sure if they are the young Crawford and Burgoyne.

The shorter one is definitely Keenan Boi - in our NGA. Only 16 still. I think he's 2027 draft class.

He was one of my highlights of training today. Looked fast and skillful. Super clean pickups and instantly onto the boot with great finishes. Pretty strong in the running drills too. Sat out match play and physical stuff but colour me impressed.

There was match sim?

Wasn't really match sim. Ground was divided down the middle from goals square to goal square. They had to play one side only, and when the double whistle came at random moments they had to all quickly switch to the other side, even while play was active. Play began from a stoppage at spots decided by Sam and what was ostensibly the B team (in red) would be given the clearance and they'd have to hack a quick kick forward. The point of the drill was the A team, in white, transitioning the ball from defence to attack under pressure. That was my take anyway. There was a mix of senior players on each side, so not best v the rest.

Standouts were Morrison (he did have the easy job of playing loose in defence) with some good lateral kicks and Nash who was involved a lot in transition. Wiz did his awesome intercept to kick what I think was the red's only goal. Also poleaxed Butler with a great tackle.

He is, not as much as Impey or Amon but he is, he’s also just got a great mix.

He’s got the intercept, top quality ball use and speed off half back, whilst being strong defensively.

One thing I’m really looking forward to during Jan is seeing what Croc is doing at training. If he is included in the midfield group, shows a lot more of that, coinciding with the new nu 9, has a big tank with class …….. there is our man to spend more time in the middle!
