Many years ago, my father asked me to iron his favourite white shirt. I soon discovered that the water supply in the iron was fairly limited, so I took the iron to the kitchen to rectify that problem. I poured a liquid from the orange jug (which I naturally assumed was water) into the iron, and then returned to the task at hand.

A few seconds after plugging the iron in, I pressed the steam button. But to my horror, I quickly realised that the liquid was not water, but orange cordial. The residue landed on Dad's pride and joy, and my name was mud for the next few days.

I read this thinking it was going to be one of your dad jokes and now I'm bitterly disappointed
