The aflw draft went national way too soon for port Adelaide. We were still trying to build our list.

Now what we’ve going to have going forward is Sa’s best players going interstate , and Sa clubs often taking the Sa players left over

Weeks out from the draft it was strongly said port was only looking at Sa players.

Gonna be very hard for port to build a contender like that.

Just drafted Olivia Crane from Subiaco, 181cm key defender

from Rookie me central

SNAPSHOT: “An intercepting machine with a damaging left-foot kick, Crane is highly regarded both on and off the field.”

Further information
What Crane does so well compared to a lot of key defenders is the fact that she can impact the game both ways. Her offensive work is very good, but she is just as capable defensively, so if given a job, can fulfil that effectively. One-on-one you would back Crane more often than not, with only the ultra-athletic tall marking targets likely to pose her problems.
Crane is not quick nor overly athletic so they are arguably the main setback in her game, but she makes up for it with her sublime reading of the play. By judging the ball in flight and being able to get to the right area faster than most, she often out-smarts or out-foxes her opponent as if it is a chess match. Once she has the ball in her grasp, she is a damaging left-footer who can pierce some of the best passes you will see.

Thats a great draft for us.

We made the baffling call to delist Alissa Brook, but suddenly it makes sense when you draft a direct replacement.

Additionally we desperately needed a winger, link runner type. Sophie looks like a perfect fit for that. We needed it last year and ended with an inside type in Patterson, this appears like a really decent list upgrade though.

To also add Hampson in the same period, it definitely feels like this has been a successful building period. We should really be targeting a top 4 finish for next year. No reason we cant be right up there.

AFL and AFLW clubs are both such pussies.

It's ****ed. We effectively cosplay a US player movement and equalisation system but in the US, every team would have taken the free talented player,
