Daniel is not a member of a functional defence.

If he’s playing, we’re ****ed.
After a coach wins multiple flags it's like they go senile and start falling in love with opposition players past their glory.

Sheedy practically had a best 22 in his last year at * comprised entirely of guys he gathered up from a physio waiting room.

Pagan was flirting with the trim, chiselled Calthorpe, moral giant Olarenshaw and David Bourke (even he must've been confused when the phone rang during his delisting meeting at Richmond with "hey, not sure how but somebody wants to trade for you) in his final years with us.

Not content with the rare non-Indigenous magic of Daniel Howe, Alastair obviously felt a guy who chip kicks 20m and is overpowered by visiting school kids at training was the sort of bloke you build a defence around.

All the medicinal mull probably makes him think Daniel is a 2020s Andrew McLeod.

Is that a work of fiction?
I went to training on the Friday and Sunday...tried to go today but got caught up and the earlier start stopped it being possible...

The Friday session was the main one...it was pretty brutal and they all worked bloody hard...and I'd say whoever wrote that got lots right...Harvey was playing as a half back in any game stuff (as was Mikunda in the small parts he wasn't running by himself). Simpkin all on the wing and was very chirpy. FOS in the middle. Trembath looked excellent, he was clunking heaps of contested marks. Banch did look sharp, and although some mightn't like it Daniel was looking good as well.

If Daniel starts playing well I couldn't give two f's. If he starts performing I will be wrapt

Thanks mate.

Just on your last point, it really doesn't matter how good he looked, because teams will plan for him being the major distributor and quickly arrive at the conclusion that, between one or two of their role players, they can: outpace him, outmark him, outbody him, and cut off his options upfield thanks to his limited kicking capacity. It's a disaster. Him looking good at training is a disaster because it will only entrench the thoughts arising from whatever contaminated hash the coaches are smoking of an evening that he is in fact a suitable solution to our transitional problems

Whatever club you support I can guarantee fans talk about how much faster the game has become and how consistently making rapid exits from your own 50 is more and more critical to scoring. It is impossible to understand that and think Caleb Daniel should be playing IMO. One can only hope Clarko comes to the same conclusion.

Oh I don't doubt it happened, was being a little bit facetious about the club comments.... Simpkin owning a wing ... March champion who sooked up about having to play there and'll be immigrating in the Spring, Daniel having loads of the ball .... stat padding already, and the only way RHJ pressurises is by being that far out in space he needs a space suit ...

Yeah I didn’t actually realise it was club comments until after my reply…on the Caleb Daniel comments by a few I agree and think he gets pushed out of defence as Hardemann and others improve…

They obviously had a bit of a game at yesterdays session which is annoying to miss…but at the risk of being way too optimistic the training levels are much better than I’ve seen in the last 5 years which is encouraging, and from the comments posted it looks like players who were training well took that into the game sim…

Just saw the boys at airport. My wife can’t believe how young (and handsome) Harry looks!!

The 10-year old was holding back the excitement when he saw Colby and Lachy!!
They'd be taken aback that anyone recognised them.

Caleb Daniel easily bog in match sim

That backline doesn't inspire.

I don't see Logue and McDonald as part of the solution and Kerch should be using his weapons further up the ground.

Looks very similar to our backline last year. We know how that went.
Forgot to mention - playing a defensive system that was poor along with the sheer volume of entries due to periods of defensive lapses further up the ground through games.

Also - we've never seen Logue start a season fully fit with a full pre-season. I want to see that before I make a call on whether he's up to it or not. Looked great in his "fittest" season at Freo, so a wait and see for me. Tracking well (touch wood).

If there's a definitive system change - like we've heard rumours of - let's see how they look in 12 months playing it.
Hopefully there will also be more consistent help up the ground!

It would be fake form. There is simply no way his offensive game makes up for the fact that he can’t defend a witches hat. I don’t care if he gets fed the ball 35 times a game. He is not going to miraculously start kicking lasers, break lines or intercept the ball.

My doubts will linger over Clarko, as long as Daniel is in the team. Even if we do take a step and start wining games, it will be in spite of Daniel.

To be fair, he’s a bit undersized to play in witches hats. More suited to caps.
