I hope we don't get a full side into the field until late on day 3.Australia cannot get a full side into the field atm.

Poor shot as well by Head. I’m attending day 2, so my incentive to attend has been reduced.Head out to a ripping catch. Jakey, bit of a nothing shot.
S Smith will miss the Melbourne test too?
Depends how many laxettes Ussie put in his Milo
It's the old inner ear/balance issue thing again, apparently. I saw a 'story' on my phone earlier saying it was a concussion, but that's not the official line and he's expected to be ok for Boxing Day. We'll see...

Smith ruled out of Adelaide Test on dramatic morning | cricket.com.au
Usman Khawaja recalled to bat in place of Steve Smith, who is unwell and out of the third Testwww.cricket.com.au
Did Ussie punch him?Hopefully it becomes as expensive a drop as when Ashley Giles dropped Ricky Ponting in 2006. It would have been 4 for 79 - Ponting finished with 142, and the Aussies went on to record one of their greatest ever wins.Catches Win Matches.
Harry Brooks' straight forward catch that he dropped, is going to cost the poms big time. Khawaja has gone from looking nervous and a bit iffy, to very comfortable. At 3/50 Oz would be in trouble.
15.5 Tongue to Khawaja, 1 run
dropped, at second slip! Full, width outside off, Khawaja goes for the drive. Gets a thick edge and Brook spills it to his left. Should have been taken. Big moment. Brook dived for it, could he have stayed on his feet?
Usman Khawaja 6 (28b) Australia were 2/50 before that dropped catch.
Lunch time
end of over 24 AUS: 94/2CRR: 3.91
Usman Khawaja 41 (55b 6x4)
What a piss week, nothing shot by Labuschagne first ball after lunch.
The poms should have had a consistent plan for Oz's top 4 who have been piss poor in the 18 tests in between ashes series in England in 2023 and this one.
I set Statsguru at all batsmen who have batted 1-4 between 01 August 2023 ( day after 5th test at Oval in 2023) and 20 November 2025 (day before this series started) and you can see how piss poor they have been and the lower order and bowlers have won the games apart from batting paradises in Sri Lanka in 2 tests in February this year where Oz batting dominated to help produce 2 huge wins.
In Sri Lanka, Khawaja made 232, 36 and 27 not out opening, Smith made 141 and 131 in his only 2 innings. (Inglis made 102 at #5 in 1st test and Carey made 156 at #5 in the 2nd test).
Oz has dominated the 6 series in between Ashes battles.
2023-24 V PAK in Oz won 3-0 ........... Warner's fair well tour produced one big score of 164. 5 other innings for 135 runs.
2023-24 V WI in Oz 1-1 series draw
2023-24 V NZ in NZ won 2-0
2024-25 v IND in Oz won 3-1-1 draw at the Gabba as lost nearly all of first day's play.
2024-25 V SRI in SRI won 2-0
2025.... V SAF at Lord's for World Test Championship - lost the game
2025.... V WI in WI - won 3-0
So P 18 W 14 L 3 D 1 and the top 4 produced the following:

UzzieBrook will be hurting every time Ussie scores a run.Uzzie
Doesn't look like it with the little cartwheel he did after Green's dismissal.Brook will be hurting every time Ussie scores a run.
