so next year last uncompromised draft before tassie pillage the 2027 draft

good time to have 2 first round picks like we do

even our 5 3rd rounders are more valuable in 2026 then would be in 2027

These are currently the only players l can find contracted until the END of 2027. North need to get their act into gear and sign some more..
  • Tess Craven
  • Jasmine Garner
  • Taylah Gatt
  • Erika O'Shea
  • Alice O'Loughlin
  • Ash Riddell
  • Ruby Tripodi
  • Vikki Wall

Need to get Bogue, Mia King, sorted out quickly and look at the rest during the 2026 season..
Not worried about keeping anyone to 2027 should be easy to get everyone we want one year deals

It’s 2028 on when salary caps come in that will be the struggle to keep people

And Tassie come in 2028 also

Interesting comment for you considering how you complained all through the trade period that we were stockpiling 2026 picks.

I’d rather Niamh Martin over 2 future 3rds

That’s one move we shouldn’t have made

That was strange considering she was contracted.

But shit by her and slight head scratch from our side (imo) to allow it.
She apparently wanted to stay but we told her to look around

We wanted KLWT collateral which we didn’t end up needing

I like Niamh, she had her moments but was generally a bit of liability on the field, she was tentative, was not great at the defensive aspects of the game and was easily bumped out of the way. The fact that she stayed in Ireland in 2025 means when she returns, we will be unsure of her development and condition, so to get 2 third rounders was an absolute steal for a player that wasn't going to get a game unless there were a number of injuries. We would have been stupid not to take that deal.

or vs tessa boyd who was the last one signed, could have easily delisted her instead

do not rate her and she's nearly 5 years older than niamh
Tessa Boyd is a defender and we are a little light on those, Niamh is a forward and we have a number of those.

It was the right call by the list managers to trade Martin and keep Boyd, they have been on the money more often than not over the last 4 or 5 years, and I think they did an excellent job again this year.

Be interesting to keep track of Martin v Sarah wall as our last pick.
Don’t rate Martin highly
AGM v Niamh is probably the more like vs like comparison as they played similar roles for North.
I was impressed by how quickly AGM started to improve as the season went on. Still needs to be a bit better with her tackling and physicality but the signs are positive.

And it's supposedly a stronger draft. With two R1's and five R3's we may be able to move any picks up the order too.

The women’s team proves there is an underlying disdain in the media for our club for what ever reason. They just don’t like us winning.

That’s one good thing about American sports media. They still have their favourites, but they love jumping on a winner.

Thats the thing. I just don't get it. Doesn't Australia usually love an underdog winner?

I always compare us to the dogs. Similar size supporter base even though we are two very different clubs. We are the innovators and they are the filthy scrap eaters (yes I loath them). Yet there is plenty of good will from the media toward them as the “underdogs”. But us, it’s disdain.

I think it is the manner in which we are winning. We aren't really an underdog, we are shattering all kinds of records and it seems with each year we are just extending the gap between us and the rest.

As successful as Brisbane has been during the men's competition, they look hopeless at times, ie they almost lost to us. They look very beatable, they just get the job done during finals.

we very nearly lost to melb tho and only have one flag to show for our dominance if so

and whilst we should 3peat it nearly did not happen
