I appreciate the effort of whoever put the highlights together.
However, it would improve them if they had the marks and goals from different angles.
Also, the assists and handballs he’s been involved in to set up goals. He’s been really good in that regard.
Agree re handballs. Underrated skill for a big dude. Reminded me of Carey/Allison link up.....

What makes his 3 goals against GW$ more meritorious, he was surrounded by the below luminaries

G Payne 6 disposals
C Harvey 9 disposals
B Scott 6 disposals
D Stephens 14 disposals
T Powell 11 disposals
B Teakles 4 disposals
J Konstanty's 6 disposals

What, we play 7 short did we FFS, enough of picking rubbish, as it currently stands I'll be disappointed if any of the above 7 are on our list in 2027

C Comben 14 disposals 10 marks. And he's a dill lol.

Imagine if we surround Trembath with some class, oh boy!

I think his fist 3 games were excellent due to the following:

1- statistical output. 13 scoring shots, 2 contested marks per game, some lovely goal assists. In 2 losses and 1 win.

2- personnel around him. No larkey, and little Zuhaar, and instead had teakle, Whitlock, Payne and Harvey around him

3- quality of defence. 3 goals on Taylor, 3 on the crows defence

4- under prepared? Safe to say after a taste, a proper pre season, he should be better prepared than last season

5- more subjective but the little things. Crashing the pack against the tigers took vlaustin out of the game and lead to the sheezel goal. The tackles inside 50 that lead to LDU goal against the tigers and Powell against the crows. Does things that show he can bring team mates into the game

He also had Darling and Curtis who have shown that this year they function really well in a forward line.

Not trying to diminish his performance at all but I think he was better off with those two than Larkey and Zurhaar.

There's no question. He was. But that won't be a situation he finds himself in very regularly next year

That's good tho.

Larkey missed all those games and Zurhaar most of two. So he had the space and whatnot to be a major option up forward. If they'd played he may have only kicked three goals in total even if we kicked as many. Hopefully next year it just means we have more options up forward even if they have to spread the goals between them.

Personally I thinked we looked better without Larkey and Zurhaar but I am probably wrong about that ... lol.

It's too small a sample size to conclude anything. It's the same with Trembath's 3x3. Clearly the kid is a strong mark but some of those simple set shots wobbled off the boot something terrible.

Corr as a defensive forward was probably an unsung element of that Adelaide game too. Doubt that'll happen with the three key forwards healthy, though I'd genuinely consider shifting things to enable it consistently. Defence is attack these days; quelling interceptors has merit

This guy was impressive in his three games end of last year.

But I do think we need to temper expectations just a leeeetle bit.

Reading these last few thread pages suggests we have a Carey Mk-II Coleman winning forward here.

He’s a MSD recruit who played well in a couple of mostly dead rubber games end of year. Good signs, but to say it’s too early to judge is an understatement.

Here’s hoping, but geez… let it play out without piling pressure on the kid to be the second coming…

(And yes, a ‘do you even BigFooty, bro?’ response is fair enough…!)

Yeh somehow 3 good games that demonstrated sound marking but what looked an unreliable kicking technique had some reading the last rites for the incumbent 60 goals/year in an appalling I50 quality side.

Bit to play out on whether he's Kent Kingsley or Drew Petrie from hereon.

There has been some great MSD stories across the competition. We were due one here and kudos for the recruit team for keeping tabs on him and watching his transformation and taking his 2nd chance.

Agree. Worst case we've got ourselves a good depth player who can play either end of the ground.
He looks like he's got the hunger and work ethic to make something more than that, and I hope he does.
