Strong divorced man energy in this place.

You reckon, I’ve not seen anything like that. I’m 31 out of 53 years with the missus, but have seen a bit around the place though. I just don’t understand why people think it’s their place to judge others when they know nothing of those people or their relationship.

Odd comment to make, that said you do make a few.

Not really, it is bang on point

Adultery remains illegal and punishable in many countries, primarily those with Islamic law like Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, and Somalia, where penalties can range from imprisonment and flogging to death (stoning).

Want to take a punt where homosexuality is a thrown off a building offense?

He has a habit of kind of losing all logic at times does old HS. Wants to repeal no fault divorce from the family law act too. If that happens we’ll have to open up an investigation business, it’ll be a boom industry.

Cheating on a partner is seen as wrong in every country, whether its illegal or not.

Being a homosexual is far more acceptable around the world than adultery will ever be.

But you're someone else who also likes to make strange comments so Im not surprised to see you back old mate up here.

What about infidelity from one party v physical and/or mental abuse from the other? Who has committed the greater crime and pays the financial penalty?

Fairly backward view you have there.
Of course theres always a tipping point, but you'd probably find that most abusers are also the ones leading the line when it comes to infidelity too.

Fancy you saying someone has a backwards view.

You’re the one that wants to repeal a groundbreakingly positive change to marriage law from 50 years ago.

Thats a strange take again.

If a person does decide to stray from their marriage it should absolutely be considered in the final outcome, along with the other things you mentioned.

As i said, there would be a fair portion of divorces whereby all those types of abuse are perpetrated by the one person.

You state it’s a strange take and then go on to reiterate that exact view.

I'm not sure that this is your finest hour. 1970 is sounding like the voice of common sense in this debate.

TERRIBLE take, wanting to reinstate a combative, expensive, antagonistic fault-based divorce process.

What a way to make a terrible moment in a couple's life even worse.

So what you're saying is that if someone is largely at fault for a marriage falling apart, there should be no consequence ??

Insane thought process

You don't know anything about his relationship but it didn't stop you trying to justify his cheating by assuming he was miserable.

No fault divorce is the best change they made to divorces and should exist in every civilized place.

Everyone has different religions, morals and expectations. It’s not up to the State to make judgement on that. Some people can forgive cheating. Some people think cheating is watching pornography. Some people are okay with open relationships. The only rules or fault view that matters is those that are in the relationship.

Lachie Neale isn’t the first and won’t be the last person to cheat on his partner. It is really is no one’s business but him and his partners. But it being front page news for a week now is pretty sad for everyone involved.
