What awaits TayTay in 2026? His name has barely been mentioned and certainly isn't featuring in any best 23s.

Do we just accept that the Pies got this right and hope he provides leadership for the VFL? Or can he be part of our contested possessions dilemma solution?

Literally haven't seen any mention of him for months.

Becomes a great mentor for the young kids in the VFL, pushing standards etc.

He's there as an absolute break glass option in AFL.

If we get a good run with injuries and competition for places in seniors is as stiff as we hope, we might see a VFL team coached by Nick Malceski that is headlined by leaders Taylor Adams, Jake Lloyd, and Dane Rampe. It's a pretty good prospect for a much more consistently competitive reserves side and for better development and learning for the young kids on the list, that's for sure.

In honour of Damien Barrett; IF he actually gets on the park, THEN he will be mentoring the VFL side.
That would be a damned good thing. Taylor has shown plenty of signs of being a good mentor and would bring plenty to the midfield group with Hamling (probably) in the backs. Dosser (possibly) in the forwards.
Leadership was a real issue this season.

It would be an impressive list with two AAs and three B&Fs between them.

Has torn his Achilles 😭

Taylor Adams suffered an Achilles injury at training last Friday.

Scans have confirmed a partial tear of his Achillies.

He will be in a moon boot for several weeks before recommencing recovery and training in January.

I don't really think he had a role to play this year anyway but surely this would have to be his final year with us, and probably in the AFL, unless he can score a short & sweet deal tied into a coaching role or something somewhere, which for his sake, hopefully he can.

I think sometimes we hold on to hope that when an injury-prone player gets injured that that injury is going to be the last one before he comes good. But realistically, how often does a player actually buck the trend of his injury luck? Take Sam Reid for example. His late-career Renaissance was a joy to behold, but the sad part is it only lasted a grand total of 18 games before injuries got him again.

It just sorta seems like in this sport you're either durable or you're not. The ones who get injuries get lots of injuries, the ones who don't hardly ever get them.

The counter to this is obviously someone like Max Gawn whose first half of his career was entirely plagued by injuries and ACLs and knee recos, and the second half has been nothing but All Australians.

He was standing with his left foot in a moon boot at the Bondi tribute.

What a disaster of a signing.
