It’s that time of the year again, what were your favourite Top 10 Streaming Shows of 2025?
For me:-
1. Adolescence - just turned up out of the nowhere to offer a devastating insight into the complexity of being a teen boy in this social media era. Incredible performances by all concerned and the production values were outstanding.
2. The Pitt- in my mind and despite the legals around it, it was ER Part 2, and what Dr Carter may have become. Noah Wyle was sensational. The Health industry everywhere in 2025.
3. Severance - I had the joy of binging the previous seasons in 2 weeks and rolled into this season just in time. A thinking persons show.
4. Plurubis - close on the heels of No 3; a welcome return of the BB team.
5. Andor - how does a down the food chain character of the Star Wars universe become the best SW product outside the originals? We know the eventual outcome in Rogue One, but the investment in this show had me rushing home asap to watch. To see Mon dancing her life away at the wedding explains the seemingly sad woman we see in the movies.
6.The Last of Us - for non gamers the shocking departure of a favourite was so unexpected. The series never recaptured the quality of S01 and again for non gamers we can only hope to see a different pov in the next series that recaptures the form.
7. Task - another unexpected surprise; two Dads on different journeys trying to get by in middle of America. Tragedies throughout yet ended on an optimistic ending. Awesome performances.
8. The Narrow Road to the Deep North - not for everyone’s liking but the brutality of the Burma Railway (and who can ever unsee one particularly brutal scene there) and the ptsd legacy was grimly told. A sad tale that was repeated many times over for the survivors in real life.
9. The Bear - a satisfactory conclusion to an outstanding series. Who can ever forget the wedding under the table scene or that excruciating final scene out the back of the restaurant?
10. Dept Q - so many twists and turns right to the end.
Narrow misses - Blue Lights, Hacks and Stranger Things
What did I miss?
What was your order?
