Surely they dont fire Carroll. Imo theyll give ride out his contract — a) can't keep affording to pay fired coaches, b) he's a good coach, just need to give him two or so drafts to load up the roster with talent, and a franchise QB. Just gotta let this brand new football department have a chance to do something.

The game has passed him by unfortunately.

Cant keep firing HCs (even GMs) every season. Gotta just stick with him and give him a chance with a better roster.

You can if you Carroll isnt the right guy long term. He is a retool roster and win now type of coach when raiders are a full rebuilding team.
Both GM and Carroll misjudged the current raiders roster is all.

Would Carroll even want to stick around for the rebuild that is required ?

In truth, every season is a retool, therss no rebuilding. It's all semantics. No team rebuilds over 3-5 years...ever.

You can hit one draft...Cowboys 90s, Steelers 70s, Texans a couple years ago. Otherwise youre moving pieces around, Vrabel Pats 2025 etc.

A HC is more an over-seer of things. Its the asst coaches who do all the coaching and scheming . Why you dont keep firing HCs. Get rid of the Chip Kellys etc, hire guys like Ben Johnson, draft a franchise QB, fix the lines...things can and often turn around immediately (eg Pata 2025)

It’s atleast two solid drafts and free agency before raiders are back in hunt for playoffs.
And 2025 vrabel patriots are frauds only in playoffs because of playing easiest schedule ever.

Spytek is known to understand that this was going to be a long term project - an extended rebuild of sorts. Carroll couldn't even definitively agree with such a sentiment when the words were spoken for him about a rebuild barely a few days ago.

Carroll's mismanagement of the roster has been completely incongruent with building for the future. He's also fired two of his coordinators and has clear schematic issues with the 3rd. He also churned through a number of coordinators in his final few years in Seattle. Lastly, his outright defiance in the face of reason regarding the evaluation of Geno Smith beggars belief.

Rather than simply saying Pete should stay, what reason(s) has he given you during his tenure as coach of the Raiders to justify this position?

If you have 100+ million in cap room, and get the #1 pick, you will be able to attract plenty of top candidates for the HC role.

It's easy to see that Rogers is a pretty switched on individual. The knock internally however was that Rogers could not grasp his individual blocking assignments which is why he didn't play earlier in the year.

I fail to believe that someone who is so mentally challenged when it comes to the game is able to articulate themselves in this way as a rookie at a locker room presser. It doesn't add up.

Uncle Pete said he is going to TRY to get Rogers in for more snaps. Yea, wouldn't want to rest stonecold Forsyth

He actually meant Charles Grant, but the sentiment to Forsythe remains.

What is it going to take to create positive change? Or is everyone basically content.
Mark can fill the stadium every game coz opposition fans include LV as a vacation.
Office staff get paid regardless.
Coaching staff are used to being replaced but can possibly get another job elsewhere.
Players are on high salaries. If half way ok they can get picked up by another team.
Lots of teams in the competition - cant all make the playoffs.

I never expected to be even close to a .500 team this season. My read was that Carroll was here to stabilise the place, fix the culture, give the kids experience, perhaps even mentor our next HC, and his legacy would be cemented when the next coach succeeded.

None of that has happened. He’s not even playing the kids. His short term focus will win us one, maybe two, of our final games and our rebuild will be compromised again.

As much as I tend to have a bias to consistent leadership, if Spytek’s long term plan doesn’t align with Pete’s, Carroll must go.

Fortunate to keep the tank alive today. They played well. Jeanty did what he does when he gets some room to operate.

These next two games are really winnable though. They really need to shut things down asap with their top players.

Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby spoke honestly about the player's perspective entering the showdown.
"Yeah, I don’t give a sh-- about the pick, to be honest," he said Tuesday. "I don't play for that. That's not my job. My job is to be the best defensive end in the world. That's what I focus on every day. Being a great leader, being an influence. Being that guy on a consistent basis for my team."
