He’s made more runs than 90% of the batsmen in this match but is the scapegoat because he’s the easy target.
No it’s because every other batsmen has made at least some decent runs at some stage this summer, he’s the only one yet to even manage that.

They all deserve flack for this test, they just have other recent tests to fall back on.

Have you watched or just looked at the scoreboard? Has easily been the most composed aside from perhaps Khawaja in the first innings.
I've watched from the ground

He looked solid enough yesterday until needlessly running himself out

Today he was ok when he applied himself, but he seemed intent on pushing for unnecessary quick singles which Smith kept turning down - that's not the play from a composed batsman

yes, of course it's easy to say that, but a ball heading into leg-stump is usually clipped into the leg-side... batsman's instinct kicks in and it deviates half-a-bat-width and takes the leading edge
