Last time I popped into a Cheap as chips I was struck by how it wasn't that cheap, like why are they charging more for snacks & condiments than Aldi and charging IKEA prices for garbage furniture? Not surprised it's gone to fertiliser.God. Cheap aa chips has collapsed. 500 jobs there.

Its true. Places like fantastic furniture, ikea etc have killed em. When I worked there as a kid the biggest sellers were probably cheap ass cosmetics (there are other places that are 'on trend' for kids these days), cards and things like plant pots and resin decorations. Flat pack stuff totally sold but maybe wasnt the staple.
So many other places which are similar prices or better with more variety now.
I dont miss having to put together the flatpack shit for display
