Not liking Toni Storm's booking atm.. pretty meh.
It’s fine. She had a long title reign and it’s time for others to be champion. This feud with Shafir won’t last long.

I wonder if the Timeless Love Bombs rematch with Babes of Wrath will happen at Grand Slam Australia.

From fightful: taven, Mercedes Martinez and Alex Abrahantes not with aew anymore.
Alex's name reminds me of early aew.

no great loss x3. (contracts not renewed) expecting Emi to be on the list, unless hers already expired.

I want to say Mercedes was in casino battle royal in 2019 before signing with WWE and appearing on nxt. She was part of that era of shimmer where aew & the black gold nxt came along 10 years too late.

yes, lots of really good performers came through Shimmer. quite a few of them unfortunately in the wrong era as you noted.

The hilarity of how similar Mark Davis and Jake Something looked in that backstage promo.
True tag team themeing.

That's a good strong addition to the tag ranks.

Davis should shave his head so they seem a bit different but they work as a team.

Therea too many in Don Callis' group, but that's a problem for another day.

Collision feels a bit neglected post Continental Classic. Divisions that took a back seat in December, should have been front and centre in January. We need opponents for FTR, The Opps, Babes Of Wrath, Okada, Ricochet and Statlander, but little has been done to build anything in 6.5 hours of TV so far.

We’ve still had some great action highlighted by The Young Bucks and Perry overcoming The Demand. Some insane stuff from all six men with some creative triple teaming and not forgetting Toa Liona’s triple stacked Samoan Drop. You could definitely run this match back in the future, with hopefully a title on the line.

El Clon v Komander was another high quality match with a lot of inventive stuff by both. That tornado hurricanrana off the top rope by Komander landed perfectly, and was one of many great moves in the match.

Looking ahead, the Sydney show has sold just over 5,100 tickets so far, with under 5 weeks to go. We should get some indication of possible match ups by the end of Maximum Carnage. I’d expect 3 or 4 title defences in Sydney as well some of the top talent that didn’t come last year.

Reckon they'd be a little disappointed with that from Sydney. I'd have to imagine that Brisbane house show is going to be tiny, they've probably underestimated just how many of us came from interstate.

Probably doesn’t help that the next PPV is scheduled for March

Wouldn’t be surprised if the Brisbane show is cancelled. (Unless contractual reasons dictate otherwise)

I said at the time the two shows would struggle, and i reckon you're 100% about the under estimations.

If you were going to do two cities, had to make it Sydney/Melbourne. Still would struggle to get 10k to each, but much better chance of maximising sales.

I overestimated their appeal here. Melbourne was the better option with it's culture of attending live sports and more of the population fitting in the demographic of the fanbase. That said the promotion has been non-existent.

This comment is funny because I hear constantly that there's too many ppv's (not my opinion). Shows you can't please everybody.
maybe there should probably be a Jan/Feb show, but excluding the joint NJPW show last year in Jan, AEW's sweet spot seems to be 9 PPVs (per years 2024/2025).
